Subaru was doing the high strength steel cage 15-20 years ago. Nothing new there. I recall reading that rescue crews needed to buy special blades to cut through Impreza B-pillars.
The aluminum use is nice to see.

Yes, wonder too. All those metal-to-metal contacts make me nervous.
I have a first gen Insight, and all the bolts going into aluminum have a weird greenish tinge from the specialized plating they used. But still, with northeastern cars, you are drilling out half the bolts you take out of the damn thing.

I saw a Model 3 in person for the first time, on Saturday. It is spacious enough for my 6'-6" brother to be able to drive.

Three different kinds of steel, and one aluminum alloy - probably doable.

Latest local rumor over giga way is they have tons of "easy" parts but not enough bodies to build and fit the challenging bits.
