Filled-up yesterday at Petro-canada. 94 octane 0 ethanol like always. Did 928.8 mi on 9.572 gal (US) 97.03 mpg. Now I'm on my winter tank and I will try to do 70 mpg this time. Anyway could have done a 1000 mi tank but filled up earlier before going to Valeyfield.

Also it is really cold here at night so I will stop charging my HV battery outside for the winter. Will do some of my maintenance on this tank now that I have finished my high mpg tanks of summer and fall.

Got my winter boots installed, I did notice a small amelioration in mpg because the potenza really suck in sub zero temps (°C). Will inflate them 45 psi. averaging 70 mpg on the tank... this is not as good as I wanted but I can't do miracles. This tank will be under 70 for sure.

Last 3 days I got ~55 mpg on my commute with the Potenza, we will see if it gets a little bit better with the Blizzaks.

I feel for ya, man!

I mean, no I don't, lol! I live in a place where it never really gets cold and I was so happy to break 70 mpg on a tank I bought myself a decal for the back of the car. Haven't hit 70 mpg since, so maybe I ought to buy another decal that says *occasionally

Just bought some LED for the turn signals and backup lights. Also my gauge lights for the cluster. I installed my rear flashers so far and tried the backup lights but they didn't fit properly due to the bulb housing retaining the bulb to go to the bottom of the socket. I gave them to a friend and will buy some mighty 194 instead of the 921 next time I buy LED.

Will install the front flashers soon, I need to unfasten one inner fender bolt to access the socket area. Now that I have LED for flashers they flash rapidly. This is funny because people keep saying to you that your flasher bulb is burnt and I say : No, they are LED, it is so low current that its like you have no light for the computer .

Just received my GAZ adjustable rear shock absorbers. They look really nice and I just wait to finish my suspension and direction module at school to install them. Will update when they are installed. This is what they look like (Not mine but they are identical)

Just filled-up yesterday. Got 65.7 mpg (US) on 696.6 mi with 10.59 gal. Some good temperature at the beginning of the tank and during the holidays. Really cold temps since the beginning of 2015. Did my best to hypermile in the cold season but sometime I could not P&EOC properly because of the conditions so I did DWL in lean burn instead. Also lots of 12v start up.

did only two 70+ mpg commutes since the beginning of the year...

Update : I received my new Accord 2.3L EGR Valve from Insight for Life (Thank you again for the group buy). Installed it yesterday at school. It took about 45 min to remove my 15 year old Insight EGR (Yark), clean the mating surface on the EGR port and then install the new EGR with a new gasket. The two bolts were lightly stuck in rust but after 2-3 Liquid wrench shot it removed like a charm.

So far I am happy with the results. No more herky-jerkiness at 1800-2000 rpm in 2nd or 3rd at ~14-16 TPS and 40-60 LOD. No MIL. Here is the old Insight EGR :

Can you give an update on the LED headlights? I'm considering them for my much more fuel-thirsty Accord which has the electrical system powered entirely by deep cycle batteries.

I'm a bit concerned about the beam pattern. Is the horizontal cutoff not as clean and not as effective as a normal halogen bulb? Light spraying upwards some?

Thanks!

I still have them installed but I think the kit I bought is just really cheap chinese crap. It does effectively reduce your headlight electrical consumption by more than 50% but the beam pattern is fuzzy and doesn't have a real horizontal cutoff like you mean.

It really just spread the light beam into pretty much all directions exept where you really want it, in our case, the road. You need to reajust the headlights so you don't blind people. Also there is not much difference between low and high beam. You can see the difference in really dark areas but otherwise you won't see the real difference.

So I cannot recommand those LED headlights kits unless what you wan't is purely reduced electricity consumption. They are like 25w each instead of 55w each for H4/9003.

The bright white light color is really nice tho compared to the yellowish stock halogen bulbs :
