Take out the spare tire, the jack, and all the tools. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes. Plus your commute is only 3.7miles, which is walking distance anyways. That should nudge you past 100mpg.

Today did 90 mpg on my commute. 81.5 mpg on the morning trip and 98.5 mpg on the returning trip.

There is also something else... there is something that I didn't wanted until 3-4 months. With all the P&EOC I do in town, my 144v battery doesn't get charged much, and my SOC gauge showed 1/20 bars during my returning trip. When I was at a redlight comming green, I started and, nothing happened. I put it in neutral then again first gear then started again. There was a 1-2 second delay then I heard my 12v starter bringing my engine to life. It seemed to work well tho. It started after 3 solenoïd sound. After that I decided to do 2 big regen instead of coasting and I drove without shuting off the engine a little bit. My SOC gauge displayed 5/20 bars and I started to do P&EOC again and my engine could start on the 144v battery normally.

I think a 144v battery charger is needed more quickly than I thought...

The good part of this is that now I know my 12v starter works properly and I wont be in trouble this winter .

Your 12 volt battery may be part of that problem if it's being drained from engine off coasting. The biggest problem you may have is when the car decides to force regen the 144volt battery to full. If it happens on the highway say good bye to record mpg! The best thing to do is find a road 40mph and under and let it force regen to full. You'll stay above 60mpg instant while the battery gets full, and the distance it does this will be a lot shorter. The car wants a certain time period to recharge, regardless of how far you drive. The slower and shorter the distance, the better!

Yes thats why I bought a 12v battery charger and I charge it over-night. Since then my battery never went below 12.2 volts and as high as 12.8 volts while driving. The 12v battery is new so that must help too.

Today it was a miraculous day for great mpg . There was no traffic and temperature was around 25°C outside. c°WT showed 54°C before starting.

On the morning trip, I beated my previous highscore, I did 92.3 mpg! The conditions were perfect and the car worked like never before. I do 32-20-32 mph cycles when I P&EOC. Sometimes I could cost for more than 30 sec! It was wonderful, only hit one light so it was not 100% perfect .

Then on the returning trip, I also beated my previous highscore of 113.2 mpg, I did 113.5 mpg!

The average of the commute is 102.9, The first time I get 100 mpg AVG on my commute, and also better than my previous highscore of 95.8 mpg! So I beated my three highscores on my costco commute, in one day!

That finish the week well! .

Every day is a miraculous day for good MPG when you have an Insight. (I know I'm going to miss mine when it's sold.)

Congrats on the new high score!

Did my oil change last week, took 2 pictures. I changed the old oil that I didn't know what mileage it had. I put Mobil 1 AFE 0w-20. I also put a honda oil filter and there is no leak. I don't know if its just me but I feeled a good difference in smoother lean burn transitioning. The engine also feels more healthy.

Did a 299.2 miles round trip to Arnprior, ON, and back. I did 92.3 mpg on the going trip. I had 330 lbs of people, dog, bags & stuff (max load is 375 lbs!). Took the old Queensway so I drove very slowly. I had an average speed of 41 mph (66 km/h). On the returning trip there was some heavy rain on short interval. Still managed to do 99.8 mpg (I didn't had 330 lbs too. Only 115 lbs (me) ).

Average for the ~300 mi trip is 96.3 mpg!

My tank gauge now shows 9-10/20 bars and I'm at 535 mi! This tank will be incredible compared to the first one.

Also took some pictures during the trip :

Spotted this Ford Mustang Cobra GT 500 :

And finally, Gandalf and my Insight :
