I've started a SketchUp model of the Dolphin, but I think I need to redo much of what I have. The rear transom is too wide. But, this should look familiar!
I think the overall profile is close (I traced a photograph) and the scale is pretty close -- the 1997 Geo Metro uses 13" rims, right? Or are they 14"? The overall length of the model is 16' 9 1/2" which seems to be pretty close. I'm hoping to hear back from Dave Cloud with some hard dimensions, and higher resolution photos.

Okay, I had the transom too wide (by about 7" overall) and it looks much closer to the real thing, now:
The scale of the license plate helped me correct things. The rear wheels are now ~5" closer together; though they may need to widen back apart some...

The comparison pics to the other Metro are enlightening.

Nice photos. What is the transom area as a percentage of frontal area?

An aerodynamic trailer maybe ?
These pics illustrate how much of the donor car was changed to produce the Dolphin.
It's one thing to say it's a modified Metro, but it's quite something else to realize how much it was modified !
Excellent work
Though a set of flat hubcaps would really be the icing on the cake

This guy is a true master craftsman.
I wonder if he has estimated the drag coefficient on this 'electric' eel.
It is so close to perfect ...if only that front wheel had a cover on it.
( YKYAEM when you cringe seeing that uncovered wheel )
What reason is there for the removal of the final portion of the tail ?
