I don't think that you know that I think you don't know
That old barometer goes crazy, baby, every time it starts to snow
You won't find me walking, 'round your part of town
Humidity built the Snowman, sunshine brought him down

Humidity built the snow Bug, sunshine brought it down. (100% gone now.)

Best thing: unusually warm stretch of spring weather, so went for my first canoe paddle of the year yesterday. Had to dodge a few ice floes though.

Happy belated, Xist!

The Prine quote was more on-topic than I realized. Must be channeling some Cosmic energy?

Back in the '70s psyche classes, we called it the 57 chevy rule before it got it's probably proper name... when something intrudes your consciousness you start noticing examples of the intrusion you overlooked in everything. It was there all along, you just didn't see it.

I finally fixed Mom's windshield washer reservoir!

I should still have a Permetex kit from when my Subaru leaked. It turned out that it was the hose, near the end, so I broke it off, reattached it, and saved the kit.

Maybe I could have used it, but I didn't want to remove the bumper just to see, so I ordered a replacement from RockAuto.

I didn't need a new one.

I didn't need a kit.

I have never seen any oil in or under Mom's car, but there was a layer on the reservoir and the hose was soaked. The last 10" was soaked and flared.

I guess the oil caused the hose to swell and the little bit of pressure from the washer fluid detached the hose.

I made an effort to clean the original reservoir, bought 100 small zip ties for $4, used one on the hose, filled the reservoir, and when I saw that it held, I put the car back together.

Unfortunately, it is too late to return the reservoir, so I will create an account on what looks like the biggest Camry forum, post an ad, and hope to eventually recover some of my money!

I probably could have removed three screws on the passenger side, moved the plastic cover out of the way, and looked at the reservoir.

If it needed replacement I would need to remove those screws anyway.

Nice!

I wonder if FB is killing the Camry forums too. If FB simply added some more functionality for "forum-like" groups, they could squash the life outta us like bugs.

My best thing was also mechanical: I got the free snowblower to cough to life with quick start spray! The load governor butterfly valve in the carb was stuck closed. WD40 to the rescue. It's aliiiive.

I don't understand [people]. I avoided F*ceb**k from the get-go. Everyone knows (or at least should know) what they're up to today. People just walked away from Myspace on a whim.

Linkedin just had a half-billion users doxxed. Just like F*ceb**k.

Best thing that happened today - I booked my father's plane tickets to fly out a do our motorcycle trip down the Pacific Coast Highway (US Route 101 / 1) from Washington to California. We were going to do it last September but cancelled because it almost became impossible to get a flight for him to the West coast. We had 3 different tickets cancelled and it got so bad it was going to take him two days each way.

He is fully vaccinated and I got my first shot last Monday.

BTW - flights are still super cheap for mid-May.
