I got the quarter out of the toilet!

Also, I found out that ChrisFix loved one of my comments! I wrote:

Got a set of used xd wheels for free. They are just sitting in my brother's garage for a long time. I just need to clean and paint these wheels before I put them on my truck.

How do you plan to do It?

I have a set of wheels and what I'd like to do ($$$) is powder coat them satin black and then spray various Plastidip colors I can change from time to time.

VW Marathons. They're an artillery-spoke wheel, start with satin black rims with wood-grained spokes and silver centers (like a 1920s Chrysler). maybe flip-flop colors later.

Xist A few days ago someone I would never in a million years say anything to smiled, waved and said 'Hi' to me in a grocery store aisle.

Next day was even better — I got involved in a 'Sekrit Projekt'. Maybe there will be more on that.

Nice wheels. The wood-grained spokes add a retro style.

I'm planning to take my wheels to a shop to get them sandblasted. Then I will clean, apply primer and paint them.

I tried to use a blasting cabinet to strip the Marathons, but after 15 minutes I had a backache and only a fraction of one side of one.

A powder coating shop here can chemically dip them. I have a defunct hot-dipping tank (nickel-plated brass) but it would only hold half a wheel at a time.

Frozen trailer brakes unlocked with only a 4-lb engineer hammer and a section of lead pipe to give it that special love in 21F Texas this morning.

freebeard,
1). GOODYS Back Pain formulation
2). plus some BC POWDER (green package).
3). COMMUNITY-brand Coffee & Chicory. A strong pot.
4). The Yellow Pages (to find the guy who’ll finish it). From the BarcaLounger.

Me, I have to ignore No.4 and pop in some Jack Teagarden (“Nobody Knows”; cranked right up with, “Way Down Yonder . . .”) to get this wagon & team headed into Injun Country through the winding Devils River valley on US-277.

My back problems have been in remission for 6 or 8 weeks, not sure why.

This is ontopic, it made my day.

lowtechmagazine.com:Mist Showers: Sustainable Decadence?

Buckminster Fuller invented the fog gun for his Dymaxion house. It used 1/10th the water but it was like showering with a pressure washer. In the 1970 a hand portable version was designed in Canada that used VW parts.

Quote:
The five-nozzle mist shower offers significant water and energy savings compared to a “normal” shower and does so without sacrificing comfort. However, is it sustainable enough? If eight billion people used a five-nozzle mist shower, all wind turbines in the world could still only provide two billion people with a daily hot shower. And, compared to a one-minute Navy shower – which is entirely focused on efficiency, not on comfort – energy use is five times higher, and water use is twice as high. So, let’s see what happens when we decrease the number of nozzles, still assuming average shower frequency and duration...
I have a fiberglass shower stall I can modify, instead of the steampunk-over-ceramic tiles version they show.

I'll need 90° mister heads.

Best thing so far today was watching this. You won't think it's punny until the end.
