why would the MPH readout on the scanguage be more accurate than the speedo due to oversized tires? The VSS doesn't "know" when the tires are a different size, so would simply read the factory settings, unless the SG has a GPS chip in it...

SGII MPH can be adjusted for tire size.

In setup you can set the MPH factor, for example mine is set to 6% as my current tires are 6.3% over sized.
This same setting also adjusts the miles traveled, mpg gauges.

I got a ScanGuage now and love it! I had to make use of the XGuage feature and add the HP function. I don't think it's very accurate (said my Maxima had 217 HP under hard acceleration up a hill when it is rated 190 from the factory) but it's interesting to see how little you can get the H down to while cruising.
So far I have
GPH
MPG
HP!
TPS
It can become very distracting I've noticed! However, it would seem that the car shuts down the fuel while coasting over 1500 rpm, so

That's estimated gross horsepower, which isn't power at the crank, but power at the piston. It read as high as 190HP in my 135BHP Subaru. GPH is more useful.

I think the HP is merely a gauge for giggles. GPH is definitely useful; it told me the comp shuts down the fuel during coasting.

Just installed my SG2 today and am trying:
RPM-my hybrid has no tach so this tells me when the ICE is off
MPG
TPS
GPH-this also lets me know when the ICE is not running (before the SG I never knew when my ICE was off or on, so this thing is great)
Will experiment with these 4 and see where I go from there.

I've had my SGII for a couple years now in three different vehicles.
The two gauges that have remained on the display all along...
TPS
MPG
The other two gauges have varied and I just changed them again this morning.
First was...
IA Temp
MAP
Then...
IA
WT
Now...
LOD
GPH
I liked using the MAP setting as I used it as something like a vacuum gauge. The '02 Blazer was the only one to supply this, my '02 Miata and my current '10 Cube do not.
