Arrigonis -- I was bored too, that's why I was trolling you. But, it gave you something to do on a rainy afternoon, so win—win!

There are lots and lots of articles and studies about this...
Some are written by scientists, economists and activists...in the 1700s, 1800s, 1900s and 2000s - all of them predicted we should be dead, starving...living in a new desert, or just not living at all because the world ended. Have you read the latest end of world sci-fi...

What's different about Richard Buckminster Fuller is that his Anticipatory Design Science put tools on the shelf for problems we would and will face later. An example: his Synergetic Geometry gives us a conceptual framework to work on the nanoscale. Doing ever more with ever less qualifies as General Efficiency.
There are conceptual frameworks in which in February 2013, after a 3-month interregnum between Ages, we begin a 10K year Golden Age.
I've always looked for science fiction that shows a future that I would care to inhabit. So that leaves us with, ummm...... Barbarella?

No doubt, but I don't want to get a reputation for going off topic. It's a slippery slope.

Perhaps Suspect is actually anti-alarmist, and posts these drive-by articles without followup just so we can destroy them with reason, thus proving the utter uselessness of worrying. After all, Suspect never responds to the legitimate criticisms of extreme alarmism.
Well played Suspect. Well played.

See - that is a response - we can discuss and should move this to another thread - if you can spell my login name straight Start that thread, post a supposition or a pov and off we go. Seems OK, right ? As opposed to this thread which is, er, what ?

I have decided to occasionally check Suspect's profile for new threads and to warn of tw.tt.shness where I find it. I think it is a service to man (or indeed person) kind.

I apologize. Sincerely. I try to be a better person than that.

Not sure WHY denialists want to shut down discussions about subjects they don't like or don't agree with.

As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.

Go to this link and use up 45 mins of your precious denialist time to get an overall understanding of reality?
REMEMBER THIS....if you were standing on some railroad tracks and someone mentioned that a train was coming...wouldn't you want to pay attention and maybe take a look...especially if you heard a horn and maybe caught a glimpse of a headlight?
Sure you would....

Number 961 does have a point though.
We do go through resources at an unsustainable rate.
So we must put far more emphasis on reusing and recycling what we have.

The guy that had to put *drapes* on *statues* so he could concentrate on his speech? It is his best quote though.
The Peak Prosperity website was spinning its wheel so I watched the 36 minute UK version on YouTube. He covered ground that R.B.Fuller worked in 1928-40. And it appears his solution is to play the stock market.
