Not wanting to brag, but my wife doesn't get much worse FE than I do. She could engine-brake more often, or try to EOC, but her trip fuel consumption is always within 5-10% of what I would have had.
On the other hand, her dad is a different story. When he borrowed our car, I checked the car's OBC for that day's average FE, then check my fuel log for the last time it was that bad - that happened to be the previous time he borrowed our car.
YKYAEM when... You are anxiously waiting for someone to return with your car, so that you check the OBC for the FE.

So this morning a big old Buick blew by me in the fast lane with one of the seat belts flapping around under the passenger door.
My first thought was "well, that's not very aerodynamic"

YKYAEM when...
... This morning I heard an advert on the radio: "This program was sponsored by Renault, the maker of the new Megane, which can go as far as 1500 km on one tank."
And I'm like "PFF! Nothing to brag about."

You know you're an ecomodder when you're disappointed with 4.8 L/100 km / 49 MPG (US) on a 266 km round trip going snowboarding (2 people + gear) in a full-on snow storm. Worst mileage in recent memory.
...all while conducting an experiment!
The new magnetic wheel cover passed its trial by ice, pot holes and and freeway speeds.

when you say "Darn, it turned red," and your seven year old daughter says "Slow down, Daddy, maybe it'll turn green before we get there!"
