You know your an ecomodder when you don't let friends borrow your car because it will hurt your average for the tank.
...when you spend a whole bunch of time finding the perfect set of wheels only to cover them up with wheel skirts.
...are trying to help the owner of a 500hp Subaru Sti get better gas mileage and cant help to think how good a set of nice wheel skirts would look on it.
...try to convince the owner of a 840hp civic coupe how aero mods like mine will make him go faster in the quarter.
...spend all you time sleeping, working and ecomodding

When you see a Hummer H3 and think: "I could get 20 MPG from it."

...if you can judge the distance between you and the next stop sign vs the distance between you and the guy coming up behind and still pull off a decent EOC to said stop sign.

If when listening at Ice Cube's Roll All Day, you pass the 500 miles mark for your current tank just as he sings "I got a full tank of unleaded"...how ironic!
It happened to me last night as I was listening to my old gone in 60 secs soundtrack.

If you can judge that reliably, you're good!

...you coast to a stop light after turning your engine off 1/2 mile back only to find you are beside the 4.6v8 mustang that cut you off at the last light. You sit there with your windows open and think to yourself "I bet my car could run solely off his exhaust".
Ps. Then I raced him off the light and down an on ramp and pretty much tied until we got in traffic. It was fun knowing my 4 cyl could keep up with his pimped out V8 off the line. (yes I know bad for FE but it was fun)
