- Didn't graysgarage score a job with Lucid Air? Designing a twin-vortex air intake for the lower fascia? Google denies he was ever a user [4 spellings].
- I'll bite how low is the Greenbrier's Cd?
For the thread's sake, here's L'Universelle

For politics it would need two steering wheels.

I'm finding things that could go in the aero or un-aero thread. In this case, the AnyCar III, I'd ignore the front end. It has a Rolls Royce grille with an electric wheelchair attached to it. George Barris didn't have a fraction of the taste his brother Sam had.

The VW Type III has a very good windshield (for not being three-piece). It has a Buick boat tail. If the fenders followed the original taper in plan, narrowed at the back, with a bellypan around the engine and back to the bumper; then the aerodynamics would be improved.

Cd 0.37 - .38

As with BEVs today, there's no significant front grille or cooling system drag, which would add Cd 0.025, as of around 2005.

The radiator is mounted behind the driver's seat, with air intake through twin ducts that IIRC ran through the doors, with an exhaust chimney. For possibly more than 0.025 delta.
If that was about the Greenbrier, cooling system drag is substituted by fan power. No Mustang (car or plane) ram air for cooling.

The Greenbrier I was thinking of had the Corvair air-cooled engine in back and used to surprise new drivers with its coasting ability. Legend has it that the radiator on the North American P-51 Mustang used the expanding air to achieve negative drag, but when the Rutan crew set out to fly Voyager around the world, they spent a lot of time getting the cooling drag down to 20% of the total.

Maybe, comparing the road load of the Greenbriar, to that of a Ford Econoline, at Cd 0.50 and its CdA, we'd compare added cooling fan horsepower, compared to the horsepower reduction accomplished with the lower drag, and look at the differential.
On a frontal area basis, the lower Cd means lower power, lower heat flux, reduced cooling load.
The Corvair is starting out with 24% less drag.
As to the P-51 Mustang, remember, we're talking about transonic/ compressible flow, something unachievable in a road vehicle at posted legal speeds.
