Fix the lights, fix the windshield. It can get passed. There is a loophole in every system, and I have driven enough heat scores and have been "Box 3'd" (an inspection notice here has 3 levels of severity, his is the worst, if the cop ticks that box on the notice they have a serious stick up their bum) enough times to know that most the stuff on your list isn't an issue. A windshield is about $180 installed. Any broken lights etc you are welcome to off my parts car. Are the struts falling out or just noisy? The only other thing to worry about is massive rust. If you have giant holes with sharp edges hanging off your 1/4 panels then you need to break out the bondo.

Today was a great sunny warm day to do the brakes.
I installed new brake shoes and drums, the old ones were nowhere as bad as I expected, they still had plenty of stop power left in them.
The emergency brake works great as well.
I will look at the rest tomorrow, my hands are bleeding enough for today.
I called an inspection facility it will cost $129 plus 12% tax and will take about 1-2 hours.
The windshield might pass, as I read the act, all it mentions is nothing can be in the drivers field of vision, mine are all low and on the passenger side.
The struts are just noisy.
Another interesting fact in the act here, you can get a ticket and points for driving too slow.
Slow Driving

Motor Vehicle Act s.145(1)

Many people are unaware that you can be ticketed for driving too slowly. You must drive at a speed that is consistent with the normal and reasonable movement of traffic. The only lawful excuse for failing to drive at a normal or reasonable speed is if it is unsafe to do so or if you are complying with the law. Other traffic does not always move reasonably in the circumstances. You are the best judge of what is safe for you and your vehicle.
Penalty: $121 fine and 3 Driver Penalty Points

so its up to you to decide whats a good safe speed but if we say your wrong then we are right to ticket you .

another one thats odd

Driving at Excessive Speed Relative to Conditions

Motor Vehicle Act s.144(1)(c)

You are required to drive in such a manner that is appropriate given the conditions. This can include the speed of other traffic on the road, the visibility conditions, the weather, and any other factors. You should adjust your speed to take these factors into consideration. You are the only person who can properly judge what is safe for your vehicle and with your driving ability.
Penalty: $167 fine and 3 Driver Penalty Points

so its up to you to decide whats a good safe speed but if we say your wrong then we are right to ticket you .

I forget what they call it here, but I was ticketed for failing to drive at a safe speed--the police claimed that I was driving 40-45 in a 65--among other things.

Despite what the police interrogator told me, they really did need to find a source of impairment to charge me.

Good luck!

Unwanted attention from retarded cops is why I take aeromods with a grain of salt.

I'm with Fat Charlie on this one. It's unfortunate but it seems like a fair cop (in the idiomatic sense).

I'm unfamiliar with the exact requirements of an inspection in B.C. but it's likely to be a safety inspection only. Things like the noisy throw out bearing and timing belt should be non issues. The water pump may be if it is leaking coolant onto the road surface.

The fluid leaks can be "cured" with an engine wash. I'm sure a coin operated pressure wash bay can be found. If there is a bad leak, consider a wipe with degreaser immediately prior to the inspection (out of sight of the inspection centre). A cold engine with high(er) viscosity oil will leak oil more slowly, if you can arrange that. Ethically questionable perhaps but no worse than if the inspection had never been demanded.

Referring to ecomods in particular:

The LED light bulbs are probably not going to pass on the basis they are not approved for auto use. The question mark would over the direction and intensity of the light they emit. An easy fix though.

Ride height too low may be a problem.

Disabled rear demist is a problem.

The aeromods are off now but most - the exception being the tail that does, at least in the images, partially obscure the rear lights - might go back on after the inspection. Is it possible to contact the officer involved and see what he is prepared to tolerate?

My testing crash wrap aero mod on my Del Sol got me pulled over once. The Police Officer was more interested in way the car looked and worried about the crash wrap falling off then writing a ticket though, lucky for me?

Has anyone been ticketed for coroplast wheel covers ? Mine are held on with three zip ties , and i have the buckle on the outside, versus the inside of the wheel.
It's pretty easy to tell that they are zip ties just by looking.

Another great sunny warm day in B.C.
today I got quite a lot done towards getting it ready for the inspection...
1)removed kill switch
2)repaired the disabled DRL had to resolder a few connections on the DRL module
3)replaced the LED headlights with the dreary yellowed standard ones
4)replaced the miniature convex mirrors with the monster sized factory mirrors
5)removed my added on brake booster reservoir, they wouldn't like it
6)removed my fireproof blankets that kept the engine warm, they wouldn't like it either
7)removed my adjustable grill block don't need any questions or issues
the third brake light still needs to be changed
the oil and clutch leaks are absolutely miniscule so a clean up is in order prior to inspection
the windshield will have to do for the test
the water pump and timing belt are good no leaks just way over due mileage wise
the rear struts just knock on bumps in the road so I'll just see what they say
headlight aim not the bad, no one flashes me even on high beam so just gonna see what happens with that as well.
Gonna see if I can book a test for tomorrow and hopefully pass
