Yup, the i8 apparently is not boring:

Saw a late 80s Civic wagon being towed, presumably home, on a car hauler. Window said "$600 - runs"

I've got one that qualifies here:

The 1971 VW Type III Squareback. The middle ground between the Beetle and microbus, sort of a Porsche panel truck — the Perfect Automobile. ♥ ♥ ♥

This example has an automatic, decent headliner and Original German fuel injection. It's been resprayed, bumper brackets and all, and there is one open rust blister so probably more (like along the lower edge of the frunk opening). If it had a manual and a sun-roof, I'd be weighing my options.

Yesterday I went with my dad to Imbé city, in the north shore of Rio Grande do Sul, to visit a long-time friend of him. On the way I saw a JDM Toyota Noah with Paraguayan plates. Wasn't able to take pics, however.

I forgot I spotted this one last week. late '90s Escort with 190k KMs (117k miles).

And my buddy in the USA with the dealership bought a car at the auction today. I bought one too. See if you can guess which is which? I'll give you a hint, his isn't the one that got rescued from the scrap guy haha. He asked if I wanted to drive it, but I couldn't find the instant MPG display so where's the fun in that??

Nobody got excited about the Squareback?

I was looking through my albums for something and ran across this:

This is one of the nicest I've seen, and it belongs to someone I know. He up to 14,750 posts on thesamba.com. It's early so it has the short nose. Pop-out side windows. I like the blue color and the wheels are from an MGA. The roof-rack is from Volvo.

My dad owned a FASTBACK from 1969 in red, traveled many places in it but had to leave it in ASIA when we left a long time ago(1972).
NEVER broke down and always ran like a VW, slow but got us there even if a little cold in the winter, brrrr.

Someone had a red, 3-door late 80's Ford Escort in Sheboygan this afternoon. Looked like it was in mint condition. No pics, but just for an example:
