Thanks Donkey! I've never seen one up close, but it looks to me like Mr. Brock used a simple formed sheet of acrylic. If so, one would want the exit area to be a somewhat less than the inlet area, so that the flow inside of the vane would accelerate and have the energy to promote attached flow along the side of the green house. If you had too much inlet area, the flow outside the vane would detach and you might add drag. I think an airfoil shape with as much camber as the windshield to side window angle would be better, or at least forming the sheet into a 180 degree radius at the inlet would be better. That would give the stagnation line some flexibility as to where it lies. A fore and aft, and in and out adjustment could be used to tune the installation, along with some tuft testing.

The A pillar splitter used in the Shelby Daytona Coupe was to get air to the rear brake scoop.
However I can see where it might warrant testing to see if it can promote attached flow along the side.

Rear Brake Cooling

There was a Discovery channel (I think, it might have been Speed) documentary on the cars with Mr. Shelby, and Mr. Brock talking about the cars, and while discussing the turning vanes, they did mention the getting air to the rear brake scoops, but more emphasis was placed on the aerodynamic benefit. I think the brake cooling airflow bit was true, but I think back in the day, that was all they talked about as a way of not being imitated. So they may have added them to get airflow to the rear brakes, but in retrospect it was a significant aerodynamic advantage.

Well EcoTex, it may take a few weeks to get started, but I plan to convert the 1988 CRX ( The original Donkey CRX) to the ultimate Aero Honda yet. I will try to document this build from the start with pictures.

waiting with anticipation, I have an 88 CRX also. I really like your work and maybe I can get some ideas. Are you going to have a dedicated thread for the CRX?

Sorry I can't remember where we got them.
Not cheaper, but true spun aluminum. Came from Speedway

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I want to make the CRX even more extreme than the Red VX with a more aero front and a full boat tail. Should be a lot of fun!!
