Drop by Suspicious0bservers – Earthquakes | Space Weather | Cosmology – Your Mind is Your Weapon. No need restating all that here. It takes about an hour to learn about space weather.

edit: Watched it again. Climate change comes in at 16:20, but you shouldn't ignore the preceding. The Venn diagram in the thumbnail is also helpful. Bucky Fuller said to understand anything you begin with Universe and then strip away anything to big to be an influence and anything to small to be an influence. We hue-mons live in the middle.

If people are reasonable in 200 years, they will consider that we did the best with what we knew to do at the time. They should also realize that their advanced way of life didn't appear out of a vacuum, but instead was built upon a crazy number of incremental improvements.

We don't look back on doctors during the Civil War who amputated every wound as monsters, instead we realize they did the best with what they knew at the time.

sendler — The oil rich countries in the Middle East are starting to get the picture, an example being Abu Dhabi's Masdar City.

And the inhabitants of those lands aren't necessarily the sharpest tool in the shed.

Agreed there were very, very few luminaries in 1900 that could foresee where the exponential growth that fossil fuel use enables would leave us when it inevitably starts to slip away. It's something we had to work through as a society to see what happens.
.
As far as leaving an advanced civilization to the people of 200 years from now, we didn't do enough. Didn't save enough resources. Didn't build out enough replacement sustainable energy with our current energy wealth. Didn't incorporate a new economic system that can function on negative growth. There is no gleaming Star Trek future coming for them. Eventually everything will drift back more towards muscle and firewood (plus some solar PV) as it was before fossil fuel caused the population to explode.
.
Which can still be pretty nice. Once the population corrects to fit the available energy flows.

So, you have no evidence. I cannot ignore what you don't have ...

See told you, ignoring.

Then when the church of man made global warmings case is destroyed or thrown out for lack of evidence that isn't manipulated by the plaintiffs they will ignore that too.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm looking at the President's speech at Minamar, and Elon Musk's appearance at the Westworld panel at SXSW.

The regressive Left wants us to keep us a single-planet species. If we create AI and unleash it on the Solar System the consequences are dire. Humankind will never be a multi-planet species in a self-inflicted alien dystopia.

edit: Elon referenced Asimov's 0th Law:
Quote:
0. A robot may not harm humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.
