I will have to check these community solar projects out. It seems like a loop hole for an investment group to make money by milking the very generous incentives that are forced on the utility company that requires them to make "the meter run backwards" for residents with rooftop solar. What these companies do is build a comercial grid scale solar farm. And then rather than selling the energy to the grid at the commercial supply rate, which is 1/3 the final house metered rate due to line charges and taxes, as it should, they have been somehow allowed to 'Put household names" on portions of the output to make those meters get billed as if the were running backwards. But the home owners don't buy and own their portion of the solar farm. They rent it under contract. And are only paid 10% of the electrical savings for the privilage of using their name and address. So the solar company can pocket money at twice the rate for selling to the grid at the expense of the utlity company.
Apparently Renovus allows you to buy. I will have to check the price. If it is $3/ Watt then that is on par with what a contractor would charge you to install a complete grid tie system on your own roof. Though you can buy the parts for $1.60/ Watt. And get back 55% from state and national rebates.

Renovus Solar Community Solar - Solar power for everyone!
.
Trusolar is rent only and pays only 10% of your electrc bill the first year and 5% per year after that. While they nearly triple the amount that they would otherwise get paid for their solar production from $0.04 to effectively $0.11/ kWh.

R.B. Fuller's suggestion was to put them indoors. Seriously.

An hemisphere with an oculus and a perimeter vent has internal aerodynamics that can be exploited. The velocity over the top is exceeds the local average.

It would be noisy inside, but might make a good greenhouse.

Screw that I will buy my own solar panels. The electrical co-op here pay consumption rate for solar power which is 8 cents per kwh.

I used to visualize some sci fi show where there are only green lights--except in the greenhouse, which has red, purple, magenta, or whatever.

Somewhere I shared people making farming towers that were supposedly revolutionary because they used LEDs, even though that math does not work out at all. There was one comment that they did not need full-spectrum lights. Great. Red and blue LEDs, not green, that makes all of the difference!

Did Turnip undo all of the coal-related regulations President Obama signed into law?

It's a Bruce Sterling future — that arrived first in Colorado.

My friends with Trump Derangement Syndrome are starting to relax. He made a joke the other day about 'clean coal'. I countered with Thorium.

I am not sure that one is adequate. TDS? Nah. We need to come up with something like Turnip Unwashed Ripoff Derangement Syndrome.

You still have friends?

I purged all the MAGATS (MAGA Trump Supporters, including long-time best friends) from my life to the extent possible a year ago and since every passing day brings a new MAGAT atrocity it affirms that I made the right choice.

Why for do we need more ad hominum?

Frank Lee — Actually it's one friend and his (rather uncharitable) wife. I venture into the UofO bubble, and what do I find? Nazi-punchers.

It's lonely here in the middle. But there are voices here like Tim Pool and H. A. Goodman and I'm Okay with those on the near Left and near Right. I'm more concerned with the Libertarian-Authoritarian axis and I'm in the middle there too.

Free helicopter rides, anyone?

Our politicians tend to sway around the middle regardless of political affiliation, which is mostly a good thing.

Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan is very conservative, suggesting some things in the past were great and worth conserving.

Obama's "Hope and Change" slogan is very liberal, suggesting things are bad now, and need to change.

Of course, both viewpoints hold merit. Things right now are fairly great, and those great things should remain. Things could be better though, and in those areas, change is needed.

I don't purge any friends, and I listen to extreme viewpoints on all sides, usually finding agreement somewhere in the middle. I have no interest in the big box "news" outlets though. If I wanted to listen to awful noise, I'd put something metallic down the garbage disposal.

Looks like I slightly bought in to the US ideal of freedom and personal responsibility.
