Had some parts come in. I'm going to try an S2000 ECT converter and see if I can modify the programming to get it working with the Insight cluster. Also have the harness necessary now to plug in the downstream O2 sensor.

I am too, less because I care about emissions that much, than because I think an impressive build starts with picking up the details which make your actual driving experience feel seamless.

The downstream O2 isn’t a critical part of engine operation for most engines (although I am not really familiar with K-series Hondas), it’s mostly there to monitor catalyst efficiency. But by allowing the car to operate without a constant CEL, you don’t have to constantly run a TC scan to make sure, and it just looks better.

Cheers for putting in the effort to do it right. Hope the S2K parts make this work.

Thanks!

I wouldn't have a CEL anyway because with my modified ECU I can just toggle the rear O2 sensor off. It's more a matter of principles.

Cheers to you. I like this swap, and even if I didn’t, I appreciate someone who tries to do it right, as you say, as a matter of principles.

Totally agree. +1 both of you.

Car is at 95%. Systems working:
Tach
Speedometer
Temperature gauge
Air conditioning
EPS
EVAP/Purge
Primary/Secondary O2
ELD
ABS
All sensors
All emissions systems

Systems not working:
Cruise control - lacking a relay for brake switch
Immobilizer - need to reprogram @ dealer
FCD - no idea how fuel display works yet
6th gear - pops out under hard acceleration

-All fuel maps are tuned within ~2-3% on all cam angles
-Cam angles optimized for best power and best fuel economy
-Haven't touched ignition timing or lean burn yet
-Temperature gauge needs to be calibrated

Sounds like a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Nice progress!

Mario's PCB board to control the dash display would be an awesome feature if it ever gets released. Imagine a 0-60 calculator built right into the dash display!

I haven't done any EoC with my new engine yet, but I've noticed (when I've occasionally stalled it) that the brake pedal goes rock hard without the engine running, whereas with the old engine you could brake hard 5+ times and still have vacuum without the engine running. I wonder, was there maybe a 1 way valve to the brake booster that didn't come over?

For anyone going through my thread and looking to figure out how to wire these things:

Secondary O2 sensor

Insight:
Black (on sensor) to White/red -> ECU C31 SHO2S
Gry (on sensor) to grn/blk -> ECU C18 SG2 (ground)
Wht (on sensor) to blk/wht -> ECU C12 SO2SHTC
Wht (on sensor) to blk/yel -> ground?

RSX
E2 - wht/red - SHO2S - detects HO2S signal - 0.6v warm
E4 - pnk - SG3 - sensor ground
E6 - blk/wht - SO2SHTC - drives secondary H2OS heater (ground?)
Other wire - IG1 12v+ when car is on, powers H2OS heater

Identifying the O2 sensor heater wires is done by finding the two wires which have 3-4 ohm resistance between them. The other two wires are signal wires. None of them are polar.

~

Coolant sensor
ECT B15 - MTRTW - RED/GRN - should be fed 5v with low pulses, ground will make it show 2 bars, solid 5v will make it show "overheating" 14 bars.

Does that mean you're able to use it at lighter cruising loads?
