Sounds like a good idea.

Have to admit, the first thing that went through my mind after seeing you tooling around the parking lot in the stripped Prius chassis (after: "Cool! Fun!") was...
Blank slate for a low-drag custom body!

Drone shots!
That is so cool. I agree it's almost a perfect donor vehicle. If you did a batch of Prii, how many hours to bring each one to this point?
Don't hesitate to cut the wheel openings, Ghias typically overhang the tire anyway. Raised flares and an airdam would tie it all together.
ALT Series: The Karmann Ghia - Speedhunters
I made fender flares of a VW bus once by having a sheet metal shop cut a sector* of a circle that I bent into a sector of a cone and riveted it on. On a Ghia you'd have to order a wide sector and trim the outer edge to fit.
*Sector or segment? I'm thinking of a partial ring.

I think 6-8 hours. Obviously it could be faster with practice. There’s a learning curve.

Holy wow. That video update is amazing. The fit is so good. You make it look easy but we all know it is quite difficult. Beyond my skills by an order of magnitude or two. Fun.

probably all over bar the shouting by now, but I think I would have put the Prius power plant where the back seat is for a mid engine design, and battery in the front
