Electrify America is owned by VW so they built it out work with the 800v battery in the Porsche Taycan

1.6 miles / kWh = 54 MPGe. Not bad for a truck

That's right in line with my cost estimate based on a Prius. As I said, it's not too bad driving a tank for the cost of a Prius.

Of course, the Hummer won't be as "green" from a CO2 perspective because there is enormous entrained energy to build the enormous vehicle, and especially the huge battery pack. It might be more green than driving a normal Hummer, but not by much.

True thats with high standards for EV, but overall thats amazingly cheap. Weird how our standards shift over time.

625-Watts / mile

So far, there's not enough published information available about the HUMMER to make any informed impression.
Shooting from the hip, it looks like it will be a 219 + -kWh pack for the high-end version.

There's lots of information, both official and otherwise.

Based on the top trim, which is the only one offered the first year - $112,600 - 4th quarter 2021. The base model is 4 years away.

We know the specs of the Ultium batteries, and the Hummer is using Ultium batteries, so we know it's 200 kWh.

We've been given an initial range estimate which allows us to have an impression of the efficiency of 1.6 miles per kWh, or 625 Wh/mile.

0-60 in 3 seconds
crab walk
air suspension
35" tires standard, can fit 37"
3 motors providing 4x4 capability and torque vectoring

specs

We need:
* overall height at maximum suspension extension
* 'normal' suspension height setting?
* a long distance, telephoto image for all views, or a set of technical drawings
* curb weight
* top speed ( and whether that is 'drag limited' or governed )
* an actual road test result for a given speed ( like Motor Trend has provided for other BEVs ), not EPA dynamometer cycles
* actual range from actual road test
* Cd would be great!
* frontal area would be great! ( although could be ascertained from a technical image )
* tire manufacturer and precise tire specifications for each of the two available tire sizes
* single planetary gearset on motor?
Moving footage of the HUMMER at speed exhibits a wake larger than the vehicle itself. Very disturbing!

If what they show on the advertisement is what they are going to sell then GM might not launch a dead on arrival dud.
Looks like something out of blade runner.

I still think they should call it the "Heavy", short for "Hummer EV".

And also cause it's F'ing heavy.

In the USA Tesla still uses their proprietary plug while everyone else uses CCS.

I believe the CyberTruck is going to be the "value" truck. I also expect pricing to be close to what Elon said it will be. He did briefly produce the $35k Model 3 as promised, and you can still phone order it for $36k.

Musk promises seem to be accurate but for timeframe.

Tesla discontinued sale of the secret menu $35K Model 3 at the end of 2020. The cheapest Model 3 is $38,500 now.

Musk isn't even playing the secret menu game with the Model Y. The Model Y SR went on sale in January for $43K. It dropped to $42K, then to the promised $39,990 on February 18th and was pulled from the website February 22. No secret menu option. The cheapest Model Y is $50K today.

I expect the same games for the base Cybertruck.

I didn't know Tesla ended the hidden menu option as it isn't discussed much, and it seemed few people wanted the base option.

I heard something about being able to phone order the Model 3 single motor long range, which isn't offered online. Don't know if that's available or not, as people don't seem to discuss the secret menus much.

I too expect the same games for the CyberTruck. The most expensive configurations will be offered first, and after a long wait, the lower priced options will be made available briefly.

Not like I'm going to drop $40k on a vehicle though, so all of this is a moot point for me. Maybe I'll get a great deal on a used one next decade. Model 3 used prices might get attractive in the coming years. The Model S is now on my radar.
