I think that insisting she can work when on morphine and still complaining of pain is crazy.

Not working doesn't make the pain go away.

I was barely functional taking a half-tab of grey market codeine every 4 hours, but I went to work. After work I went home and didn't sleep all night.

Yes and no. Logically she likely shouldn't be working. Physiologically people believe that if they can still work it can't be that bad.

My group leader died last month at 42. He worked Christmas shutdown installing equipment, went on a week vacation with his wife, came home and two weeks later started feeling off. A month later he was dead from a series of organ failures. Doctors didn't determine a reason. The whole time he kept working - he was even working from his hospital bed days before he died.

She has been in a hospital for a week, barely eating or drinking, and struggling to just bathe herself.

She couldn't finish her shift on Sunday and all that has changed is that she has pain management with mixed results.

Undoubtedly, her cancer has gotten a little worse.

It sounds like it will be further days or a week before they know exactly how bad her cancer is and figure out how to best treat it.

My sister, the nurse practitioner, asked "Does she have a friend who can start a GoFundMe for her?"
I replied "Yes, Xist, Doer of Things!"

However, it is always said when I am the best man for the job.

I offered and my friend said "No, I will be fine!"

I have every confidence in her ability to beat cancer, just not in her capacity to work full-time for a long time.

She insists that she cannot rely on anyone else.

"Hey lady, how much did your mom watch your kids before all of this? How often does she give you and your kids rides? What else does she do for you?"

She claims that I make Mom sound like a saint compared to hers, but due to how much her mom does for my friend and her kids, methinks the lady doth protest too much.

That house is for sale for $297,500

I linked the listing on ReMax, which still doesn't show it for sale!
Her realtor's page, which still doesn't show it for sale!

Zillow says it hit the market yesterday: 616 N 6th Ave
I spent forever trying to zoom in on the chart to see when the market value peaked, but since Zillow has a main column with pictures of the house and basic information in the second column above the scollable details, with the background showing other properties in the area,
  1. You cannot get those main columns to occupy the full screen because it wants to show the background with the other properties in the area.
  2. When you zoom in the main column takes up more and more of the screen.
  3. If you delete it the section with the basic information takes up more and more of the screen.
  4. If you delete that, the page goes away, and you just get the background, without any properties, just a grey map.
There is a table!

Zillow says that it peaked in June at $334,200, but now it is worth $289,600. The seller bought it on 11/30/2021 for $201,000, which it was worth between July and August of 2020.

Zillow says it was worth around $271,600 when it sold the last time.

It doesn't have air conditioning, the lawn isn't great, and it only has chain link fences, while some owners have put in solid or at least privacy fences.

It does have an 18x24 shed, though!

Hey, does anyone know if that could be fixed up for a personal apartment?

Re: a couple hours ago: The third time Oregon Dome fired me I realized I'd been working in a red haze of back pain doing constuction work. A few months later I was lifting floppy disks.

So is the Boxable house $15K or $50K? Bucky Fuller said a house should cost more than a car, so that seems to be the ball park.

I was just at a local collector's meet to pick up some magazines and they had MREs at $8/ea or a case of twelve for $90. Is that good priciing?

Dad died of a blocked colon, so I would value bowel movements as priceless.

In the midst of a Zombie Apocalypse I'd have bigger problems. I'll compare pricing elsewhere.

Winco had MRE for a lot cheaper, maybe half that, but pricing depends a lot on the contents and date of manufacture, location of items for sale. You know, market forces..
