Brilliant design. Thanks both you all. I wonder if I could do something like this behind my black plastic grill block? When it heats up it warps slightly and I don't like the mild ripple look. If it had more backing, like this, to hold the shape ...

I finally checked my tire pressure with a gauge (vs the gauge on my compressor tool which has been ran over by a car...). My tires were at ~27 psi. I had filled them up when I got the car, apparently not enough. I must have slow leaks so I'll have to keep an eye on it. The tires are VERY weather checked and cracked. I'll need new ones before the snow flies. The tread is low but not horrible and the car actually did quite well through the winter. I was surprised by the traction I had. Anyway, they all have 55 psi in them now and woo it makes a difference!

It must be something about the tire compound. The 2nd-hand RE92's I have on the Flea are also really checked & cracked. Not leaky though. No bulges.

Sounds like there is an elevated risk of a blowout. I replaced my drying and cracking tires that came with my VX wheels on the first sign of bubbling and bulging. I got lots of miles out of them but protect yourself. Check them really carefully--and on the inboard side walls, too. It's not worth a blowout.

I'm sure there is elevated chances of a blow out, especially with how bad the roads are in spring. I'll take my chances as I've never had a blowout and I don't really travel at high speeds in this car. I'll get the new tires this fall.

Have any of you Insighter's looked at replacing your RE92s? In my quick searching, I'm finding tire rack is the best place around.

Earlier this week I filled up. Best tank yet at 67.7 mpg. So far this next tank is shaping up to be quite a bit better.

That's where I got mine, but they seem to have gone up a little in price. I'd probably order there again though.

Yeah, things are really turning around for me too with the weather warming up. My major problem is that now that I live in town, I have a lot of short trips and fewer total miles, so I may not finish another tank until it starts getting cold again...

You know you're an ecomodder when...

Congrats on the best tank, Daox!

Congrats on your best tank Tim!

I'm going to have to side with California98Civic on this one. My Re92's were low tread (~15%) and had cracks throughout the tread and sidewall when I bought my Insight. I inflated them to 65 psi and all was dandy for a month and a half till this past week. I have had 3 of the 4 Re92's on my car start to disintegrate. I drive... as a dedicated hypermiler as well. I'll post pics on my thread to show what I'm dealing with... but yes, if there is a hint at any issues with the tires, replace them immediately!

I just ordered a set yesterday from Tire Rack. $378.00 shipped to Missouri with free Road Hazard from TR.
