So I went to the B.R.I.N.G. Earth Day birthday party.

Arcimoto was there. I talked to Eric Fritz, the marketing lead. They are currently anticipating a run of 100 production models by the end of the year, so in first quarter 2018 I should be able to take delivery on the one I've reserved. They are currently in discussion with local banks and credit unions about financing plans.

I need to start a semi-painful savings program now.

We did talk about how I think they should get Randy Grub to do a Deco-pod body kit and take it to SEMA. I'd road-trip for that.

I didn't have a camera with me today, but here's a picture from a year ago.

The Electra Meccanica is also aiming for 1Q 2018. Great to have 3-wheelers available: I hope we do not have to wait 7 years!

Real ones in real customer's hands soon it looks.
"The first vehicles through the production line, and the first customer vehicle deliveries this Summer, will be the Signature Series, and they are currently targeted for an April build start. As we mentioned at the end of last year, we’ve been building and testing new subsystems and assemblies prior to building the new chassis on the line in April. We are also making great progress on getting everything in order — conducting detailed design reviews of every subsystem in the vehicle, ensuring that all revisions are final in advance of production. Given the tightness of the timeline and the added complication of moving, it is possible that Signature production kickoff will move into May."

I wonder how tight they are keeping to $12,000? I'm sure those signature ones will be either more expensive, or free to certain people for publicity.
This seems to be so much further along than any of the others gas or electric, I have a hard time looking at the Electra Meccanica page and believing they are even close to a Q1 2018 fulfilment. Then again Elio has looked close for 5 years, but they have never said something as bold as this Arcimoto update of actual production in a month or two.
I'm hopeful for Arcimoto.

Just look at this for example, from the March 2017 update, a real windshield wiper on the vehicle. https://www.arcimoto.com/wp-content/...date/Wiper.jpg
From a April 2017 Elio update, the plan for putting a wiper on it. https://www.eliomotors.com/simple-but-important/

Thanks for that. The Elio has the less extreme width-to-height; and they try to swing through 90°. It looks like the SRK keeps the blade upright (less turbulence, right?). But, 4-bars for the win.

They had Red at B.R.I.N.G., so I didn't see that. I would have noticed. The only (visible) difference to the picture was a tailbox. We talked about wheel and tire choices; they have one. And their Eagle door has Model X level problems

I did suggest they run one at Bonneville in the off-season, and not wash it for a month. I think that would simulate 25 years in a Marine climate. Based on what fording a few streams did to my Superbeetle.

On the 27th, I looked at their blog and it hadn't been updated. I had the thought again today, and it updated on the 29th.

I don't see this on their webpage but they posted this on Facebook.

"Thank you all for a phenomenally successful public offering. We were shooting for $10MM and landed almost double that. This will provide us the resources we need to take Arcimoto to the next level, and it was powered almost entirely by retail investors. If you missed the opportunity, don't worry. We plan to be live later this week on Nasdaq under the ticker FUV.

Onward and upward!"

So that's a good sign, sould at least keep them on track if not put them a little ahead.

Is there any way to subscribe to updates? I once found a website that would e-mail me when a webpage changed.

Arcimoto are hard to approach. I don't much to let they focus on shipping product. Try standing at their front door. It basically says 'go away'.

I just wish they'd share a .OBJ file of the shape so I can get started designing my WWI fighter plane boat-tail strap-on.

They have a newsletter you can subscribe to. I don't so I don't know what's in there. They seem to put stuff up on Facebook almost every day, but it's not usually actual news like this post was.
