19 Days, and counting...

Spent most of tonight trying to figure out why my horn quit, tracing wires, and running new wires from the horn relay to the new horn. Did get to drive a bit at night with the rear camera on, and headlights wash it out pretty good. I know, it's not for that, but I do have a curious mind. It does show an interesting pattern on dirt roads with the infra-red on. I'll have to see if I can record it.

17 days and counting...

Today was a good day. I made my weekly fill and got 75mpg for the tank!

Then, I drove to Greenfield, MA to the starting point for the One Gallon Challenge and met BrucePick.

When I returned home, I filled again, just to see what was what, and got 81.5mpg (120 miles)on the trip.

The belly pan is going on this weekend. Tail smoothing and interior living quarters are starting this weekend. New tires by next weekend.

Umm... two weeks this coming Monday, right? That's an even longer stretch than you were planning on. Go Man, go!

P.S. I guess for the count down I'll start doing it the Army way;

16 days and a wake-up(until I leave).

true, but tomorrow is Friday and the gas prices all seem to go up on Thursday midday so I fill up on wed night or Thurs morning. I also do not do much weekend driving, so two weeks till fill up. More if I keep up my 65 + MPG commutes

So, how's even better feel? Your freak MPG is quite exciting! I'm glad to see it's working out so well! Your car is 100% win!

15 days and a wake up...

Frank- Yes you did. I was planning on going on your thread and saying that very thing when I got home tonight. You were very right. I LOVE driving this thing. I don't even have the belly pan on yet. The only downer is going to be when I switch over to the H-rated tires. My Insight tires are getting close to being worn out on the out sides of the tread. If I were using them locally I might feel comfortable using them until winter, but 5000 miles plus would not be good.

Aerohead- BWaaa-haa-ha!

Tonight was some inside work, started installing the relay to control the fuel pump with the injector kill switch, permanently mounting the plywood over the old seat cavity with a hinge, to be used as a tool storage compartment. Forgot the camera at home and will get some pics tomorrow. First cleaning and vacuum before trip.

14 days and a wake up-

Pics of cargo/sleeping area...

I'll get some outdoor carpet, not astro-turf, for the bed tomorrow.

I also got the chin back on...

It is running warm, even with the two 4.5 inch holes. There is no ducting, yet, but some is obviously needed. Did more wiring tie up/ clean up. Almost done with that. Found a coolant hose that needs replacing. Checked on H-rated tires at one local place. About $100 a piece mounted and balanced. Checking two others on Monday. Starting tail clean up tomorrow.
