While installing the new brake master cylinder, I saw fuel dripping off the injector pump. Found LOTS of fuel in the bellypan and in the engine compartment. No idea how long it's been leaking like that. Changed pump and worst leaking injector. I put the pump to 0 initial set up setting and should be able to time it properly this weekend.
This tank will be more to usual. EOC and P&G as the clutch allows. I'm going to try to make it two weeks for the clutch swap, but we'll see .

I'll bet cleaning it all up was a gas... er, diesel
Being pretty low hp the clutch should hold out awhile right?

The less I let it slip, the longer it will last. Funny, but with the training I've had here, i.e. DWL and actually using instant feedback to keep a constant load on the engine, should help quite a bit. It's the mistakes that get ya .

It's funny - I'm also babying mine in order to push the clutch change date out as far as I can...

My daughter, 10 years old now, wants to go to World of Speed again this year. I told her we'd have to primitive camp on the salt this time, and she got a little skittish. But is anyone going?
Sept 7-10, 2013.
Anyone going again?

It might be a fun thing to do. I am getting my first house in the next month but I might be able to save some cash for a trip.
Anyone else from this side of the country going (or thinning about it like me)?

I'm out this year . Looks like I won't be going to Lorring AFB either for their mile run. Longest trip for me will be Montreal... if I make it that far. Going to concentrate on smoothing the tail and finishing the interior .

W.o.s. 2013
I'm going to try for it just as an observer and to do coast downs on salt and service road after its all over.I've got to get a better handle on the difference in R-R between pavement and track.
From my data,I lost 13% in velocity due to the wet conditions last year.( and it seems to vary from day to day).

It may not be a loss,to not go to the Salt.I'm of the opinion that we just don't have the power-to-weight ratio to learn what we need from Bonneville.
I calculate that I'd need 264-bhp (sea level) to have a chance at 130 mph in the mile.Toyota has some engines which would do this, but if I were going to go to the trouble to do an engine swap,I'd be looking at the 150 Club and beyond.
If you have a good baseline,I think we'll be able to figure your new Cd from your MPG data.
I'm gonna try for the A2 Wind Tunnel in late August/early September and see what their load cells say.
From my mileage data I'm estimating the T-100 to be at Cd 0.208 at standard air density with 30" of boat tail. With the Viking trailer I estimate Cd 0.151.
I think your Rabbit is really low!

Me too! I might see you there.
What would happen if you put your rig on the end of a tow strap behind another vehicle; incorporating a spring scale at the attachment point, with a webcam or periscope pointed at it? All the tow vehicle driver would have to do is pull.
