JethroBodine

You need to make us a video like that one

It might be fun to go out there next year!

How about a 2013 boat tail at the salt meet? Who can coast the farthest from any speed

Euromodder- I'm not done yet.

Spotter- A video is already in the works, and how about we get these ones done first.

5 and a wake up.......

I tightened up a few things on the belly pan, fabricated the battery hold down, and painted the rims flat black. I left my camera at work, so pics tomorrow, hopefully I'll get the oil well stencil done tonight. I'm thinking one well pump for every 100 gallons saved. In my case 4.6 wells for gasoline and only .36 so far for diesel. Drawing inspiration from this thread. I'm also thinking red wells for gas, yellow for diesel( those are the colors of the fuel cans for their respective fuels).

I like the stencil idea, just make a caption so others know the point. If you could bring the stencil along I will try to copy it so I can do the same thing

This thread has forced me to put pics of my cars into the template- given that they mainly do Motorway driving- aero mods could yield significant benefits!

thanks for the inspiration..and I'd welcome your input on my threads

Spotter- I'll bring it with the carpet.

320touring- Look forward to your builds.

4 days and a wake up...

It's official. I'm burnt out. It took me 2 hours to change the oil, filter, fuel filter, and air filter on the car tonight. I need a break. Tonight and tomorrow night are going to be getting ready for the load up, and trying to find the appropriate amount of a$$ to finish what I want to get done before Sunday. The car can leave right now, as is, so I don't feel too bad about the break. I've got to film some pretrip stuff for the video, and having my Son be camera man, creative assistant, gopher,... will be as fun as it will be therapeutic.

Just have to collect some supplies and do some final dress up stuff.

This is going to be HUGE!!

you'll be right!

I always love the few days before a roadtrip- unable to sleep, imaginging what it'll be like- dream driving down roads you've never driven..

then the first morning reality hits- you're tired and there's 2000 miles to go, so you sup a coffee and pile on the miles..

pretty soon you're driving the roads you dreamed, marvelling at sights you'd never see in a plane, investigating nooks and crannies in backwater towns..

End of the first day you arrive tired but elated and sleep the sleep of the adventurer..

when you get back, its always 1 day off then back to work, a tired husk of who you were..but hell, nevermind- ya can sleep when you're dead!

Good luck!

You nailed that one right on the head.

Starting the load out tomorrow. The paint is cured enough to tape on, so the lettering/ accents will be tomorrow, also. The MPG Militia has officially been born.

The list is still amazing, but not nearly what I've already done. (Whisper mode) the car is running great. Fill up in the morning.

3 days and a wake up

2 days and a wake up...We have just reached warning status BROWN!

Got the ground tarp, some non perishable food, water, flavored drinks, canned coffee( warm or cold, it's awesome!), various sundries, loaded today. I'll get tools, tent, shade, spare battery, inverter, tires, chargers, cameras, adult beverages, GPS, contact info, maps, carpet, stencils, tape,... tomorrow.

Whose idea was this anyway?

I've posted a couple pics of the little things I've done to the Jetta http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ion-22468.html

I'll put the full pic in this thread also before I go. That way, those who are expecting me will know what to expect.
