My first dryer was on the side of the road in 2002 with a sign saying "FREE". It did fine until spring 2018, when my washer died and I got a washer and dryer from CL for $150. That dryer is the one that died last week.
I'd like to think that my free 2002 dryer would still be going if I had kept it, but I'm not into these things for that much money.

My last 2 dryers have been free electric ones. Paid $50 for a used gas dryer that's still running in my rental house. Bought that one 10 years ago, and I'm sure it was 10 years old or more when I got it.

Finally picked up a real boat with the Prius. 1987 16' Traveler with a 70hp Yamaha. Can't wait to fix the motor and get this thing running.

An aluminum boat isn't the type that's going to hemorrhage money.

Honestly, this is my third aluminum boat and I haven't had any maintenance issues on any of them. Especially when you buy them cheap and in need of a repair. Once I fix them I just run 93 no ethanol, 50:1, run them out of gas when I put them up, and on occasion I change a water impeller. Fiberglass inboard though... Those ain't for the po man.
Also, this boat has the Toyota of motors and is welded = no rivets to leak.
Should have it fixed with a new prop by the weekend. All in should be $2050.

I stole that acronym from a boat enthusiast I used to work with. But his was like you described: Fiberglass with a 4.3 Merc 2-stroke inboard. In the 2 years he's had it he's had to patch the hull and repaint twice, and rebuild/replace the motor 3 times, and the lower unit at least once.
I actually know very little about boats, but I prefer the bicycles of the boat world. My wife likes Kayaks, I'm fond of canoes.

If not the boat it's self then the boats trailer or the truck needed to pull the trailer will be hemorrhaging money.

I don't pull a boat, but I do pull a camper, and my $1900 dollar pickups only repair in the 4 years I've had it was a starter.

hayden is pulling an aluminum boat with a Prius... depends on what your definition of hemorrhaging money is, but that seems like a pretty cheap way to boat to me.
