Twitter sucks; always has, always will.
If people demand things that suck, then maybe our world is more just than we give credit.

If you want information use a news aggregator. The only things social media are good for are dopamine hits and depression.
Back to square one? How about a tax on your exhalations?
The video is a catalog of high-tech high-cost solutions to pulling carbon out of thin air. One could pull carbon out of biomass more easily with the easily replicable, low-tech solution: Biochar.
The climate isn't going to do us in. That will be Monsanto/Bayer causing the collapse of the insect population.

Furnace has been off for a few weeks now in spite of below-freezing temps. As long as it remains above pipe-freezing temps inside, I'm good.

If CRISPR is as easy and cheap as people say it is, we need to seriously consider genetic engineered terrorism. It has the potential to cause the collapse of very specific species, and probably a whole lot more than my imagination can conceive.

You only need one type of terrorism to save the planet. Require only one species to get extint.
Sarcasm Mode On...

The first idea in the video it's about reduce CO2 emission from power plants. Quite interesting, since can work reducing 80% to 90% emissions of CO2.
For capture CO2 from atmosphere I agree that plants/forests are the best and most economic.

Germany's new coal fired plant.
.
https://www.power-technology.com/pro...d-power-plant/
.
The Datteln 4 coal-fired power plant will be equipped with an advanced multi-step flue gas purification system, which will eliminate nitrogen oxides, dust and sulphur from the flue gas. Using combined heat and power technology, the Datteln 4 power plant will also produce approximately 1,000GWh of district heating, sufficient to supply for approximately 100,000 houses.

That's a 2014-2015 link?
They aren't operational yet.
https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/m...-plant-to-2020
Quote:
Commercial operation of the 1.1-GW plant, the only coal-fired power station in construction in Western Europe, was due to commence in Q4 2019, but initial testing of the plant in 2017 resulted in damage to the boiler in conjunction with the use of T24 steel.
The damage has since been under review, Uniper said, and initial findings "indicate that the boiler walls will have to be replaced to remedy the damage."
"This will delay the plant's planned commissioning, which will now presumably take place in the summer of 2020"
