All the local brown dwarfs are in binary systems.
The companion star's gravitational, tidal 'Roche' pull may be cannibalizing the gas and dust around the 'failed star' dwarf, who's orbit has been perturbed by a 'Saturn-Class' exoplanet in its solar system; which in our solar system, likely pulled Thea out of it's orbit, causing it to collide with Earth to create our Moon.
It's rough out there!

Luhman 16 is two brown dwarves [at minimum]

The emission is 'quasi-spherical' suggesting gravitation may be warping it's overall shape.

I'll fulfill my usual obligation to be pessimistic about technological progress.

We don't have any idea how the brain works beyond some very rudimentary facts. How are we going to create AGI if we can't figure ourselves out?

I expect we'll eventually get extremely valuable AI tools, and have some useful stuff already, but AGI is quite a distance off.

AI is incapable of generating meaning, thank god.

I'll fulfill my usual obligation.... you are not pessimistic enough about technological progress.

I posted about A Sliver of Reality at Permalink #772. We're not all that great.

AI can create and evaluate meanings at a prodigious rate and pit them against each other.

The race is on!

Well.... My mind is currently being blown TFO. I'm 20 minutes in.

The Moon is definitely hollow. And there were people who remembered when it wasn't there.

I'll come back and delete this if the reptilian overlord thing offends the site's terms of service.

Cold blooded doesn't really work well in space where sometimes you have to survive odd fatal circumstances @cold temps for a couple of whiles like maybe your A/C pack fails.

Once it reaches the Roche Limit, it will begin to disintegrate from tidal forces.
'Sphere-Be-Gone' ! ( found only where fine celestial mechanics products are sold ).

The heliopause is not a sphere.
The size of the heilopause changes by at least 10%.

Score another one for the deniers.
