Six of my last eight tanks have been over 500 miles; the first one happening in February. Average fill up for those eight tanks was 11.0375 (88.3 gallons total), and the total miles is 4075.3, so the overall average since February is about 46.1MPG. Much of that is short distance local driving.

I had my longest distance on the 270th fill up: 574 miles! But, at 11.50 gallons it was also the most gas I ever pumped into the tank, so the MPG was 49.95.

Yikes ! Could it be that you only had 0.4 gallon left in the tank ? My echo has a 11.9 gallon tank, so I am assuming your xA has the same capacity.
Are you aiming for a 600-mile tank ?

If I can get ~53MPG (which is my best tank average) then the 11.5 gallons ~609miles, so yes that would be a great goal!

I'm finally starting to pick up where I was last fall. I did a roadtrip to a permaculture workshop on the western slope and managed 40.5mpg for the round trip. Considering this also included five miles up a nasty, rocky, rutted dirt road where I couldn't get out of first gear for 25 minutes and really never got to coast down on the way out, I'd say it was an outstanding tank. Still not record setting, but it is only my fifth tank over 40mpg (in a car EPA highway rated for 28mpg), so I'll take it.

There's a bike-to-work-month contest here for the month of May, and my company has 4 teams of 6-8 riders each. I've ridden my bike 300 miles in the last two weeks, carpooled, taken the commuter train, and the light rail. I drove once last week, 46 miles round trip. It feels good not to buy gas!

Well I filled up today at 622.1 Miles. I made my first 1000km tank ! For the tank I got 49.24 MPG. my goal was 50 MPG on my normal commute. I did not make it but I should on this next tank ( I hope). I tried a new route home from work last night that boosted my trip MPG from about 50 to 55MPG. Today it was 54.5 MPG for the trip home.

Congrats! That's quite an accomplishment for a 30-ish mpg car (according to the EPA).

It's been a while since I visited this thread. Good going, everyone! I edited my mileage log to reflect an overlooked 3.3% calibration error. The corrected distances traveled on my old tires raised my xB's lifetime fuel economy from 47.1 mpg to 48.8 mpg. My record tank is now 642.1 miles (1033 km) on 10.563 gal, for a 60.8 mpg average out of a car with only a 28 mpg combined EPA estimate.
