I filled up on the way home last night and got a personal best tank average , 5.19 l/100km.

There's always a down side of course, It's Australia Day today, we get a long weekend and fuel prices jumped 18 cents per litre yesterday

Happy Australia Day!

Nice to see SOME members getting personal bests in late January!

Not gonna happen where it's -20C outside.

The sun has made it back up here during my commute time! I had more EOC time this morning than I have in the last week combined. Man, that felt nice.

Warm weather! Saw a Hummer driving around with a for sale sign. Got home at a 70.5mpg round trip commute. Thats 40 miles over some serious hills only driving with load and a half grill block.

Yesterday was our first warm day (in the 70s(F) )and I got my best tank ever on the Valkyrie.

91.9 mi, 2.149 gal (US), 42.76 mpg (US), 2.34 gal (US)/100 mi

It was 50/50 city/highway, 45 of those miles were the night before in 42F weather @ 55 MPH interstate, the rest was all 45 MPH one-lane back roads with 10 miles on a 65 MPH interstate.

I have a 4 gallon tank ( plus a 1 gallon reserve) and a 25-30 miles ride home, so I figured I would top off and not cut it close as 140-150 is my limit (I hate having to switch to reserve while moving). Who knew I was on pace to go 170 miles.

You know you're doing well when...

My latest fill was so good .. (how good?) .. so good, that my fuel graph had to re-scale itself.

It went from 30 MPG on the vertical axis to 40 MPG.
(Not that I've actually reached 30 yet in the Datsun )

Winter has just started here, so I'll have to try hard not to go backwards now.

52 mpg on the run in this morning! The UG read 56, but it's not fully calibrated yet- the overall trip is reading 3.8 higher than the car's display, so I'm comfortable calling it 52. In one of them snowstorms.

no gas mileage to blab about here... soon, everything I drive regularly will be diesel.

However, I'm mildly unimpressed with my TDi's mileage thus far [38-39MPG avg]... Granted, I need to fix some things to at least get it back to stock specs, and it should improve from there, but after seeing/hearing reports of 50-60 MPG coming from these cars, I find this particularly depressing.

Hopefully things will change come Spring. I will also be upgrading my cooling system to help retain heat in the winter, possibly enough heat retention to make cold starting after an overnight stay irrelevant.
