40% of our oil is domestic(?) Depends on where you get the source from. Allegedly most of our oil exports is in the form of oil products that can't be refined in to gas and diesel. Allegedly most of our oil imports are from the Western Hemisphere. At least a bit of good news. And AT LEAST the E gasolines have a certain percent of US renewable products. Maybe the E15 and above could almost say more than half is domestic. Or possibly ALL the gasoline is domestic depending on the company and EXACTLY where it came from. But I just don't feel like researching that right now. It would be nice to know exactly what company(s) are 100% domestic oil.

So 60% of oil is imported, 40% domestic, 100% of E is domestic(until brazil starts shippping it up to take away extra profit margin the ADM's have) which should only bring E price down. So 40% +10% = 50, 50% of our liquid fuel dollars are domestic if we burn E10, only 40% if we burn E0. I continue to stick with E10 and higher.

I would rather feed people with corn rather than put it in our gas tanks. With that said, I don't see why we still offer ANY form of farm subsidies while we are artificially inflating the cost of grains. Even then, ethanol is subsidized. As I have said before, butanol is a lot more similar to gasoline in the way it combusts (octane, A/F ratio, etc.), so I would like to at least see a move towards this if we are stuck on burning food with our engines.

I would rather burn corn than feed people.

Ya know, half of all food commodities produced end up in the garbage anyway... tells you how much value people place on food eh?

No ethanol free stations in my state except up north.... a few hundred miles.
It would be great if every station gave the option to use E0, E10, E15, etc...

If you are the government you think like this:
Why let them get 35mpg when you can mandate they get 30mpg, since all the taxes paid are based on volume sales.

I would rather burn it too, since it is GM (genetically modified).

Not a conspiracy, just stupidity, total lack of critical thinking, a good dose of close mindedness and good intentions.
