I've already lurked about converting a traditional Transporter into hybrid, but never into a full EV.

The Canoo minivan is a worthy successor to the Type II.
I haven't heard much from Electric Brands Xbus. Here's an article from October: cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/features/what-is-electricbrands-xbus

I'd take that claim with a grain of salt, not only because EVs are not my cup of tea at all, but also because I'm not sure how the Canoo may cope with some off-roading compared to a Type II.

The Chris Runge of 1950 Germany was Petermax Müller.
Here's his personal car.
Here's the rather curious engine with prototype Porsche heads and four single barrel carbs.
What follows is a run through Hamburg's Old Elbe Tunnel.

This is what I always wanted: This Classic Beetle Gets A Modern Facelift: 13:15
A reverse alligator hood with a big screen inside. Drive-in movies wherever you are.

I didn't even remember what an alligator hood was. Not what I would consider to adapt to a VW Beetle anyway...

Finding a regular-cab Polauto trucklet is not so easy. Well, nowadays even the crew-cab is harder to spot than it used to be until a few years ago...

This hatch on the bed floor shows where the engine is located, and it's clearly another Typ1-derived makeshift.
