They are still out there:

justacarguy.blogspot.com/: A lone hiker in Switzerland stumbled across the long - lost Hebmuller 581, worth its rust in gold

Here's what can be done with one:

justacarguy.blogspot.com: Bare metal 1949 Hebmüller, that hasn't been finished yet, because you're seeing the metal work of T1 Restorations, and they removed all the rust and bondo - perfectly

First example I have seen of that. I went out and compared a stepladder to my Superbeetle. Either very short people or it's so you can climb all the way up onto the rack.

No wonder it reminded me a friend who once asked me to lend him a pair of shorts while he was at a hospital after a motorcycle crash. He later found out it was too big for him, because he is really short.

www.woodburndragstrip.com/events/: 38th Annual Northwest VW Bug Run, Swap Meet, Car Show presented by NW Dubs ~ June 3

Which one does single-cab top bows better?

how a jewelry company decided to market itself and sell at Coachella - interesting. The contrast is gold and diamonds, on a VW truck. Ironic, and not self aware? Or shabby chic?

This explains Puma>>SP2>>924. I'd favor a Subaru 4 over the Porsche 6 he suggests.

My brother imported cars from Argentina in the 1980s. If I weren't a destitute veteran at the time I could have had him bring in an example for me. It would have gone down well at the Bug Runs.

AFAIK there was no SP2 in Argentina, so your brother would've had to come to Brazil. Well, back in that day the SP2 was worth nearly nothing, even my father once traded one for some small-displacement motorcycle (probably a Honda XL or XLX 250 which was the last motorcycle model he owned, and got his worst crash with one). Back in 2003 when I was 13, we saw a white SP2 at a classic car show in Florianópolis and mentioned regretting the swap, mostly because of the injuries he got to his legs after so many motorcycle crashes than the price an SP2 could already fetch by then. I don't know why, but in the early 2000s the price of collectible cars which would still be often found as a "normal" daily driver started to skyrocket.
