So while I’ve been away I’ve been building or restoring my pickup on my profile. It’s not a VW so I won’t share it here. But when I share it, it will be a fun thread as it’s not really being built for MPG.
Double overdrive, 4 wheel discs, lowered, efi roller stroker engine.
It’s gonna be sweet for pulling my camper!
I get this truck done then I might finally get around to building a bug for play.

He was all over the place, spent some time in the Caribean with a lost passport.

So now I want a bug-out vehicle with a Sandbo starter.
justacarguy.blogspot.com: ever heard of the model T Sandbo Starter? There was a pull handle under the dash, connected to the reduced diameter curved starter handle, that get most engines to start, while the driver stayed in the carl
These were marketed for the Model T Ford, but they're cable operated so I think one would retrofit onto a low-compression, Magneto-equipped flat four.
Much better than the hand crank my 1954 barndoor bus had. (Yes I miss that one too) My Forest Green 1971 Superbeetle would start on a single revolution.

Once I got so mad at the failing starter of a Pontiac Trans Sport that I lurked about doing something similar, yet my reference was the recoil starter fitted to some outboard motors for small boats.

There's something about the Fibocannci spiral that adds a little extra steampunk to it. Needs brass plating.

Portland Roadster Show March 19th, a random stranger surveils the squirreliest VW ever.
A Porshe 928 V8 hung like a Tatra, and Buell motorcycle front wheels and brakes. I'd want a cutting brake for this.

That's weird at so many levels, but the Buell ZTL brakes are cool.
