A year ago, Bob's newer white Land Cruiser died, and he never fixed it. He bought an old green Land Cruiser, which wasn't reliable, so he couldn't get out to the shop.

He paid for the shop for a year without using it.

He said that he finally has the green Land Cruiser reliable enough to use regularly, so he is working on the VW again.

He fixed the rust holes on the top of the body and started working on the bottom:

Bailed at the commercial.

TIG/MIG hardens the metal, oxy-acetelyne would be preferred.

Rust Mort needs to penetrate, flood it on.

I had a shop space 15 miles away when I bare-metaled and primered two cars. It was really, really inconvenient.

I remembered the Bug Run had come and gone (I didn't want to show up in a Metro). I found a few videos on Youtube, drag race and engine blow and such like. This one was the best overview. Attendance seemed down a little but not much. You can see an empty corner at 11:02.

One of my favorite cars, a lifted Beetle with a Datsun pickup bed at 1:00, now has a Type III engine so there's no hood box in the bed.

In America, it passes the minimum 40 year old antique requirement

That's a really rough whitewall tire. Maybe a Portawall?
