It's hard to find pictures of the Mitra, but its design bore a closer resemblance to the Kombi.



I wouldn't be surprised if its engine and transmission had been supplied from Brazil for the CKD assembly, since the Brazilian Kombi was also available there.

A tricycle limo? Guess what, it has the same powertrain of the late 1.4L water-cooled Kombi.



I'm just not sure about helmet requirements for the passengers when the roof is out.

Today I saw a split pick-up (pritschenwagen) with a wooden bed, hauling bags of garbage (not sure if recyclable or organic).

I watched the video. Anyway, since it happened in Santa Catarina, I could bet somebody would be willing to slap its drivetrain into a sand-rail buggy...

I like the Typ181. Even though 4-door cars were unfavored here in Brazil during its production run abroad, it does surprise me Volkswagen never even tried to make something similar to that and the Uruguayan Pingo which was basically a 2-door reinterpretation of the Typ181.
