Excited about the new paint. Going blue, like inside?

yep but first it is getting painted white so i can find the last few bad spots and scratches in the finish then it is getting painted blue. The white base coat gives the blue a nice bright finish

I say leave it white. White hides all imperfections and is cooler in the hot sun.

I assume you're not going to be using those tires.

Oh, the peanut gallery is out in full force today...

This thread makes me want to go right out and buy a mig welder! Amazing project! Did you get any painting done over the weekend, Coyote X?

I got some painting done but it is all still white paint so not much to show in pictures. The white makes any places show up well so I have been filling and smoothing any bad places in the body and painting it back white. I have everything looking real good now and the body is as level and flat as I am going to get it.

I hauled it in today and had a windshield installed and tomorrow the tires should be in so it will be able to drive on 4 tires that match. I was planning on prepping it with 180 wet sanding tues and painting it wed but it looks like I have to put it off a day so I can do some other work wed. So probably Thursday I will have a blue car.

Then it is just a matter of some minor details and prob hit the road with it this weekend if everything seems ok. One of the calipers I used is sticking real bad and the vacuum booster doesn't seem to work well so I know there are a few things I need to swap out but nothing real major at least. I also forgot to put the keeper pins in the ignition switch so it falls out of the hole

There are always little annoying things to fix when rebuilding a car......

Yes I actually got enough lug nuts finally and all the wheels are properly bolted on

I like those tires they are Sumitomo HTR 200 175/70R14 LRR tires. They fit the fenders perfectly The might rub a bit but that is what a sledge hammer is for. If it rubs the fender lip I will just chop it off probably. The car is now like 10 inches off the ground and I could climb under it easily without jacking it up so I am going to have to cut the springs way down. Probably 2 coils to get it back to normal. I have to find a 16 tooth speedometer gear to get it accurate but I can pick that up from a suzuki dealership sometime since they probably aren't easy to find in junkyards.

That ground clearance is insane. I can't wait to find out how much weight you chopped out. And... new convertible top?
