I was going to commend you for introducing them to Hudson Hawk, but Waterworld? That's just cruel.

It seems there isn't a consistent "healthy" diet that can be applied to all. Some people seem to do well on a keto or paleo diet, others not as well.
Lately I've increased my lipid intake, mostly because it doesn't cost any more (2% vs whole milk), and it tastes better. I'll cook hashbrowns in leftover bacon grease. I feel the same as always and my weight is on the lighter side.

He was unhealthily thin in "The Machinist". In Batman, he was in great shape.
Bale is one of those actors who'd go to any length to get into character. Which is worrying.
But then again, he isn't the one who OD'd after TDKR, so...

It's interesting to read about John Goodman's struggles with weight and how he lost a lot of it recently. I recall an old article wherein he was talking about how much exercise time he had to put in, and how he had to balance it because he couldn't lose too much of it, because his roles needed him to be "chubby".
As for classics, introduced kids to the original "Adventures in Babysitting". Cringey how they use the word 'homo' as a joke in the movie, and for a kid's movie, focusing so much on a Playboy is a bit odd... but it still holds up well.
I mean, as well as a vapid, shallow, but essentially fun comedy can be expected to. Younger kid got scared and went to bed. Twelve year old sat up through the night watching and chuckling.

If even 1 thing cannot be joked about, than absolutely nothing can. If even 1 thing can be made fun of, absolutely everything can.
I just watched the scene and thought the use of homo was a funny. It's appropriate for the time period too.
The thing about jokes is, nobody is required to find them funny, and you don't have to listen to them.

To anyone who enjoys bad movies here is a little list:
1. Splatter farm
2. Feeders
3. Feeders 2: Slaybells
4. Woodchipper massacre
I think tomorrow I'm going to see Peter Rottentail, I'll let you know how it went.

Are the super muscular characters realistic body images? I have heard many times that Hugh Jackman needs to train for six months for each movie and I believe actors still need to dehydrate themselves and other risky behaviors to look the way people expect.

It's more of how it reflects the mindset.
Can you make gay jokes? Sure. Gay people do it all the time.
But when a joke reflects the bias that it's *bad* to be gay, used in a context that, rather than reflecting a character defect of the speaker, reinforces the fact that it's a commonly accepted term of derision, it's a bit jarring for a younger audience that doesn't have the same views regarding gender.

Sort of like black-face jokes or "Jap" bashing in old movies and cartoons (the latter makes it difficult for me to watch some World War II shows, as my grandmother spent the war in a US Concentration Camp).
I won't argue that the 'homo' joke is not era-appropriate, but it's one of those things you have to explain to the kids. Because they definitely sat up and took notice of it.

While that's true, Bruce Lee often looked like he was in body-building shape when he was actually in fighting shape.

I only threatened them with Waterworld. They haven't seen it.
And yes, we had to use Adventures in Babysitting as a lesson. Topical jokes get dated fast. Back in the 80s, we just didn't know that one was topical.

The group that is so marginalized that you can't even joke about them changes constantly. Currently it's transgender, before that it was women, and before that it was gay people... eventually we'll get to white men when they become minorities (which they already are from a world perspective).
We should be shaming people for being intentionally cruel, not for making jokes. You punish someone that has unfunny jokes by not laughing. They'll get the idea. You shame someone that is being cruel by telling them their behavior isn't cool.
Anyhow, I always thought He-man was a homo, even before I knew what that was. I mean, blonde muscular dude running around with no clothes on. It's odd to say the least.
... and as I've always said, we all belong to the smallest minority group of all, the individual. Nobody shares exactly the same experiences, challenges, opportunities, and tragedies as another. For that reason, treating individuals as a group doesn't make sense. The most logical way to view people is as an individual.

That still leaves one group. I'm not the one who will name them. No sir.
