Behind the Curve (2018) - IMDb
....Behind the Curve 1h 36min | Documentary | 15 November 2018 (USA) Flat Earthers, a term synonymous with conspiracy theorists who wear tinfoil hats.
The trailer is on Youtube but they want me to sign in to confirm my age. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Is there any mention of the Mud Flood and Antiquitech? They are the only parts of flat-earther-ism that stimulates any intellectual curiosity for me*. And they stand independently. My theory is that Flat-Earthers were assigned antiquitech to discredit it.

*That and their misunderstanding of angular momentum. The stars and planets move in 3D space not on the surface of a dome**. The angular momentum of the farthest stars is would be incalculable.

**The Holographic Universe has 3D space as the surface of a 4D bubble, so it's sort of a flat universe theory.

Quote:
Holographic principle
The holographic principle is a principle of string theories and a supposed property of quantum gravity that states that the description of a volume of space can be thought of as encoded on a lower-dimensional boundary to the region—preferably a light-like boundary like a gravitational horizon.Wikipedia

Bizarre. I somehow lost half of my post. Tom Naughton documented eating fast food--mostly McDonald's--every day for 28 days and losing a significant amount of weight, but limited daily calories to 2,000 and carbohydrates to 100g.

However, he must have eaten at least 3,500 calories a day previous to his experiment to lose this much.

This professor lost more weight over a longer period of time on a "Hostess" diet, although a third of his calories came from a protein shake and vegetables. They say he would have needed to eat 2,600 pounds to maintain 201 pounds, but he maintained less than 1,800. He is 5'10".
Twinkie diet helps nutrition professor lose 27 pounds - CNN.com

The source that I just gave for his height extrapolated that number from the numbers CNN gave. They also said nobody should have listened to a fat nutritionist. Someone commented they found the professor's food log, which averaged 1,486 calories a day. Dr. Haub commented that he exercised ninety minutes a week.

My maintenance is probably somewhere around 3,000 but I don't track it. It's been as high as 3,400 before. I've got a pretty decent stoichiometric regulation where I eat less when I'm less active and lower muscle mass, and eat more when I'm more active and higher muscle mass.

Anyhow, a normal functioning body should handle a variety of energy inputs. Then it becomes portion control for determining weight. Doesn't matter if the energy inputs have been branded McDonalds or Whole Foods.

The #1 "food" that gets people into trouble with weight is pop or any other drink that has calories in it (beer). You don't feel full drinking calories, and they add up quickly.

Anyone want to talk about movies? Has anyone seen both Alita: Battle Angel and Captain Marvel?

I'm following the reviews from Tim Pool and The Quartering. There's almost as much drama in the reception as in the movies.

I'm hoping The Rageaholic will weigh in.

I'll watch it, but can you wait a min for them to go to BR? I don't think I'll have time to see it in the theater.

I wonder if it will be released in 3D. I've really enjoyed 3D movies in the Google Daydream viewer.

... I still need to rewatch Metropolis and the Matrix trilogy. Agree with the comment that 2 was not good, and 3 was only slightly better.

I finally saw an ad for "Captain Marvel." I need to finish my schoolwork and watch it!

I have not known anyone else to mention "Alita."

The only exposure you have had was a single ad and the comparison I've drawn here?

And you will go see Captain Marvel? A Marvel Universe loyalist?

Jeremy at The Quartering

Do you like Scarlet Witch? When will Black Widow get her own stand-alone flick?

edit: He put up another one and hour ago (and named dropped Wamen's Day) titled "Breaking News Captain Marvel WORST Reviewed Marvel Movie IN HISTORY!"

So I'm listening to that and by 'WORST reviewed' he's talking about the antagonistic brigading in the ratings comments.

I inherently like Scarlet Witch more than her comic equivalent, unless they bring back her brother.

This is everything that I know: https://cosmicbook.news/scarlett-joh...-widow-rewrite

I'm going to see Captain Marvel in an hour, first time I've been to a movie on its opening weekend. We got seats in a luxury theater.

The bros want to torpedo it hard. Some sites are running

Oddly:

Friends who've seen it love it. Even those who aren't on-board with the feminist streak of Disney.

Critics I respect are 50/50 on it.

Seems like it's a fun distraction, not as good as the best Marvel movies, but good enough to waste money on a ticket for.

-

So... just like every other Marvel movie.

Except rabid broflakes are still review-bombing it on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, because they "don't trust the critics", who are giving it a middling 79% and 65% score, anyway, because they're critics and they don't give a crap what the idiots think they think.
