a fuse secures the wire. a usual 0,75mm² wire needs a 10A or less fuse. if u have normal wires and the normal 10A fuse for ACC, everythimng is fine.

Hmmm - DRLs have arrived but are deeper (front to back) than I had anticipated - the lights themselves are just under an inch, but the bracket makes it between 1.5 and 1.75 inches - which means in front of the big grill could be an issue without some cutting.

Need to have a ponder.

Go ahead and cut it. Or get a used grille and dig into that, while keeping the original grille pristine. I found a few used Aygo grilles on a local site for 10-20€.

I had to do some cutting to get mine in and I don't regret it.

I'll probably go for mounting them into the foglight blanks - but I can't work out how to get the things out

I was going to post a diagram to show how I wired my DRLs, but decided to put it in its own thread. I hope it helps.

I've decided it will be in the foglight blanks as I can get to these without having to take the bumper off - the grill is packed behind. I'm looking for some spare covers to practice on but haven't come up lucky so far. George is due a service (for warranty purposes) in the next few weeks so I will ask the stealer if they have any spare ones where owners have asked them to fit foglights. I've aksed on club websites if any have spares but none have come up, and breakers only want to sell whole bumpers complete with blanks and not the blanks seperately.

And I have had a cold so no lying on the cold drive disassembling things.

On the plus side its my birthday and I've been given some cash

Zero progress European cold snap, my cold, A-junior school issues (bullying - he being the victim), Junior being unwell and work getting in the way so far.

George is going in for a service soon for warranty purposes (5 years before I can start sticking aero stuff on him ) - he is fine otherwise.

I'm using a new technique on this tank which seems to be working - 109 miles to the first bar, 90 is considered good in Aygo circles even in the cold weather so we shall see how it goes.

Off to Argyll on Monday and we may take George so it will either murder this tank or make it better.

Follow up to the post above - went to Argyll today at "not hypermiling" speeds and also got 104 miles to the first bar (tank filled for expenses purposes) - so Hypermiling has no effect...

...or of course I just can't do it right.

First service for George yesterday and it seems Mr Toyota is wanting me to like him a lot - fixed price - wow - and they will repaint his bumper where the paint is coming off and they will also replace his headlamps as they have condensation in them - I didn't report the last item

Oh and they will let me have a car for the two days they need him for only the cost of the insurance which is £12 a day, but they will only charge me 1 day - + petrol (it will be another Aygo....) - wow
