Thought you like it. i think it could be a tribute

Attatchment needs thought, some options I thought about last night:

1 soft elastic straps which could fasten around the glass
2 there is a factory spoiler that could be fitted and the kamm could go on that
3 some clips over the edge but something firm enough with no scratches could be tricky
4 something else...

It needs something - the g part of p&g doesn't last much probably partly due to aero and partly due to lack of mass. Tyres are at 45.

I've been thinking about glueing small L-brackets to the glass on the V50, then fit a lightweight Kammback to these brackets.

Something like 3M VHB tape is extremely sticky - it's good enough keeping panels stuck to trailers.

Working on glass, it means all sorts of solvents can be used to get rid of the brackets and the glue later on.

I need to do some experimenting first though, is there a non-permanent or event semi-permanent way of doing this ? I think I can make the shape of a Kamm from what I have (but I will need to read up on dimensions) and then do some tests.

My first Metro (from Grandma TBH ) had this kind of spoiler on the back

Which is what I was planning originally but I'm not sure it would make a serious difference.

One thing worth noting from this image

is the lack of silencer (muffler) on the exhaust. I was following it through and there is a single box which is mounted at the rear, with the input and output ends (if thats the correct phrase) on the same end.

I think mine may be blowing slightly, need to get underneath and check but there is a definite "blow" like sound when the window is open, but I may just not be used to Petrol

I think the muffler has the input and output on the same side and is mounted sideways b/c a normal "thru" muffler wouldn't fit in the rear of such a short car.

I'm still staring open-jawed at George's underside - most post-2000 cars have a bellypan of some sort. Get that covered before winter! You don't want salt in there, do you? I could just reach up and remove your oil filter.

BTW: Thinking about the name: Aygo Go! kept swimming in my head until Ali G surfaced. Oh well, George it is...

i'd agree with Piwoslaw about the mounting of the muffler..

Also, take it the Cat is "upstream" of the lamda sensor at the top of the picture? If so, the cat must be tiny!

Can see several easy points to attach the bellypan too-and it looks nice and clean to work under there.. A liberal coat of Waxoyl wouldnt go a miss either.

Would you consider deleting the mufffler totally? Straight thru FTW!

I have enquired on various forums about "bugs" and they seem to think the underneath is protected enough. I'm not so sure and I have a pot of Waxoyl available. The problem is if I put it on then there may be implications for the warranty - such as it is.

And yep - the underside needs to be sealed I think. There is nothing missing, I have dived under new ones at the stealers and they are all like that

Added a new tank for both cars over the weekend - both are lower than before which probably reflects life this week. Both Mrs A and I have been working all this weekend setting up stuff that other people at work should have been setting up for a demo / presentation next week. We only told them last Monday only to find they had done nothing by Friday and are clueless - we will moan a lot at work about that one.

Target for this tank for George is 65, a little back from 70 but targets are made to be moved, no ?

PS slightly to the post above. Today I had a meeting in exactly the same place as a meeting last week. Last week I managed an instrument AVG reading of 55 to the place and about 68 on the way back. Today it was still 55 on the way there but only 55 on the way back. Why ?

Well we have the back end of a hurricane passing over us and this journey was not fun - A lightweight little hatch in the strong wing meant constant steering to keep to the chosen lane. This was something several trucks didn't manage so I decided not to pass any and just stay put. Heavy rain also meant use of demister and headlights which can't have helped, but overall the wind has claimed a lot of fuel to pass through it. P&G was a waste really - pulse and then gale sized wind so back where I started straight away.

I still have a lot to learn about motorway (aka "Highway" driving with George though. Gearing is OK - I think - 70 is around 3.2K. He will happily cruise at 80 or even 90 (except on hills) but getting the best MPG is proving tricky. At lower speeds around town I've had trip averages in the mid 70s. He will take 3rd at 60 though
