Very much like my current phone, which cost me less than $30 on eBay.

But how much of it was a case of actual prediction, and how much one of life imitating art? There seems to be a fairly large market of Star Trek &c fans who only want these things because they're just like what they saw in their favorite movie/TV show.

This photo you posted it's from Star Trek The Next Generation, which takes in 24 century and not 23 like Captain Kirk's early voyages.

Do evything from a consule with few buttons and no screen, like in original series, it's quite ridiculous today.

Anyway, flat, glass like displays are dangerous, cause you can miss place your hand or finger, since there is no buttuns to feel, just glass. Yoy will never see a military vehicle like this for things like direction controller, fire control, cause it's a bit nonsense.

If humanity get warp speed, it will be like give wings to snakes. I don't want this evil species destroying the universe. It's bad enough they destroy their own planet.

I don't believe we will ever achieve faster than light travel or "beam me up" transportation. It's possible we will visit our nearest neighboring star systems, but probably more likely that humanity is annihilated before then.

I wisely just dropped the comment and ran. Now we know who all the Trekkies are. Things that Star Trek missed: retinal displays and brain interface .....well, excepting the Borg.

Former Star Trek fan...

I didn't even watched the last two films. Kill vulcan planet... what a bad idea...

I always wanted a model of the first movie (1979) starship. But none are accurate.

I vote for Naga as the new Symbol for the third and forth wave feminism.
Who are with me ???

Be careful about the 'powers and principalities' you might be invoking. Maybe best to keep that way down in the hole.

How about [threaded fastener emoji][baseball emoji].
