I think grumpy is called for.
I've spent how much time building and documenting this car, 23 pages,
and this dude can't even read them before offering his opinion that it was a stupid idea??
Ecomodder can just take this thread down, I will put the build on my own website if this is the appreciation I get for my efforts.
I gather 55,000 views of my project are just crap.
I came back on to get a link to the thread to share, why bother?
And btw, I've driven the car, maybe if some could read the posts they might notice.

I flipped back acouple pages and can't find the post where you've driven car. It more seemed to pertain to body modifications.
(Personally, I'd vote to keep the body style original..FE be damed....but thats just me.)
What I'd love to know is what is the mpg roughly. I personally don't care about acceleration/towing capacity/etc.
I personally get annoyed whenever a site reviews a fuel efficient car and always seem to ask : What is the 0-60 time? Top speed/can it seat 15 Americans/towing capacity/can i drive underwater?/will it make waffles on the way to work?
Anyways, a fuel sipping mg is a great idea, but I'd like to know the end result justifies the effort. This two seater car I spose is competing with the 2000 insight, both 2 seaters but the insight pulls 70ish mpg. The mg on the other hand has charm and that counts for something.
I guess post no.40 speaks of a '73 model doing 48mpg. So that answers my question I guess.

I have been on these forums for about a year and this is the first time that I have seen that thread. In that year, I have sifted through enough long threads to learn that it is just not worth the time.
NimbleMotors, if you read this post, that is not an insult, I imagine that if you wrote up this build on your site then it would be a much easier and better read.
I have seen some build threads where they update their first post to summarize the project or at least create a table of contents.
How many twenty-three-page threads would you read?
For the record, Aerohead has earned a great deal of respect around here.

I would read more than the first page before being saying the project is stupid.
Do you see me going into threads of other people and saying 'that whale tale is stupid ugly'?
I do hope areohead's respect has been brought down a notch,
what has he built?
I bet he has never even seen a MG Midget.
They are TINY cars, about the smallest car ever made in high volume.
If you don't have something positive to contribute, the STFU, at least in my thread, create another one on why really small low-slung cars with custom front ends and streamlined roof and windsheild and floor with really tall skinny tires that are super light weight are a waste of time getting better MPG, and you should put big fugly whale tales on your Metros instead.
Hrmmmph. I'm very busy. Building a custom twin-turbo rotary engine for a my open bow customized jetboat, and didn't finish it yet, and that this car is not finished yet either is not making me a happy camper.

No but you pretty much just gave us your opinion of them now
I do hope areohead's respect has been brought down a notch,

He still has mine, and for what he built you'd have to look
I bet he has never even seen a MG Midget.
I think everyone knows what a Midget looks like

Wrongo Fiat 500, the original one

Like a Lotus Europa with a Dogring gearbox so you could make any final drive ratio you want and a Metro engine in it. Nah

Ok couple things, from what I saw we had someone post and apology for reading it so late and not reading the entire thread. That hardly sounds like someone is trying to upset you. But If you wanna stomp off into the corner it's ok by me. I read aeroheads post and found he was making suggestions not saying it was stupid
