^^Search EM for "Coventry papers". A 10cm long open box around the rear end of an Audi A2 was like 2.5% drag reduction or something. I tried a 30mm box on the Probe with no testing and inconclusive fuel log results.

I'm thinking a classification( like with ships) as in;

Aerocivic class( Everything AND the kitchen sink like Aerocivic, Aerotrix, FrankenJetta,...),

Enterprise class( Fully manufactured cars like CarBEN EV, drmiller100s' trike, KenFry's trike,...)

Other names and classes to be decided...
Awesome! May I suggest changing Aerocivic Class to Basjoos Class, and Enterprise Class to Jaray Class? The Navy has a habit of using strange sounding names for ships and often naming them after people. I figure "Basjoos Class" also sounds a little more out there.

$0.02

I'm going to work on this boat tail some more today-- it needs to be DONE already!

Hmm... Just had a thought. For those people out there that want to do something like this, but can't, for whatever reasons. What about a bumper sticker or vinyl sticker for them? It could have the MPG Militia (or MPG Squadron??? ), and if you guys come up with a class system, then that could be included too.

That way a lot of other people can get in on the fun too!

Huh, another thought. What if MPG ______ was the class?
MPG Militia
MPG Squadron
MPG Commando
etc...

When we get this figured out I'd be glad to put some bumper stickers on my CafePress.

I think Militia fits better because we are a group, but rather unorganized, like a real militia. A squadron would expect more consistency but variety and ideas are what drive EM!

This is why we are smarter as a group, than the sum of our parts.

I agree, anything with the name "Enterprise", even a whole phrase like "an enterprising person" does conjure images of Cpt. James T. Kirk chasing green women( thank you pop culture). Maybe "Experimental" class? I'm trying to think of an easily recognizable name that refers to non-modified/purpose built vehicles( not inferring that any of them are interested, mind you). Peoples names/handles would be a good idea for classes, Basjoos/Hucho/Jaray...

I still like the MPG Militia theme. State/City state/Country Squadrons could denote general areas, but I'm not sure how that might go over in some other areas that have,...um..., shall we say, slightly stricter governing bodies?.

Commando could be unassociated/unmodified, just a supporter.

I wonder when I'll get an unexpected visit. Remember, you're not paranoid if the really out to get you

A ten millimeter lip helped an older Audi 2.5%. You said millimeter?

So with this military names goes military armament?
Something like this?

or this

Grrr I'm having trouble with numbers today (as always )! 10cm.

Commando sounds good.

As far as armament (or rather, paraphernalia), I've recently developed severe lust for an aircraft style pitot tube on the hood or roof, so we'll see what happens there. Gotta find something smaller and cheaper, perhaps for an R/C plane or ultralight application.

OH!

You guys'll like this.

You know those reflective sunshades? I was looking for a big one for the rear window awhile back and decided to just make some sort of canvas piece to stretch over the exterior instead. Well, what about using green canvas and legitimate camo net? This would be when you park it for a couple hours and don't want it to get too hot (or seen).

Do. Want.

Sven, with your artistic skill, why not complete the look on your car by adding a military shield and leaf logo to make it look official ?

Something like the SAC emblem
