Very impressive MPG numbers. I can't wait for the boat tail!

My gf says the zebra print gives it a little character, least it matches the white, and wont look like crap if it gets dirty like silver or other colors.
I ran out of coro that big to do covers. Would be dificult because these covers are also fastened with the lug nuts.
For the time being, i took the 13" pizza pans painted them white, and centered them as best i can. no sign of embalance (they only weigh like 2-3oz) and used 4 screws to hold in place.
Believe me, this things gonna look killer with the tail, already with the Kamm alone i love the way the line flows! The diffuser/rear pan will be reworked, but will keep until after winter

HA! I'm just happy i'm breaking what i was able to accomplish with the bike(which is parts now) blown engine. With more comfort than a firefly I'm just glad there is progress. not only with the car but myself too, and gf is starting to get into it!
EDIT: If this A/T had a taller 6th gear, there would be no dought this package could produce 50-60mpg with ease

OK, so my phone is screwing up on me lately, gonna be forced to another soon if it stops working(flip phone)... wont access memory card anymore and have to (hopefully) to my "online album".
Pictures will be rolling in slowly as they come along
For now
This one shows a little of the inward contouring fo the rear extention.
I know this could be much more efficient if i had some lexan or plexi to contour around from outside the lights, matching the actual body line
There is a company that I haven't been too since my Robotic Team in high school called "Fantastic Plastic" here in the Kansas City region for some of our supplies, but for some reason they just kept slipping my mind everytime recently.

The pics ive been trying to get through since 8/16...
You can see, I have much work to do to get the tail extension flush with the outer body line and fill in the bumper area. That hitch mount/boat tail option seems sweeter as time goes on, for ease of creation...
I haven't had the time to overlay the template since i took this picture, since im at work atm, i can't use anything other than IE9 browser either
This was taken slightly 1"-2" closer/above my standard eye level, viewing angle.
EDIT: Note the 2nd wiper delete^^

Here's an updated template overlay with the Kamm and tail extention..
Seems i am a bit off, maybe i was fine with the shallow angled Kamm before i compared to the Prius slope. and i can angle the tail extension up more level to follow more with the template. Maybe its not that big of a deal but i think the car pic is like 1-2degrees off from level? probably not a big difference.
The Red outline shows slightly compromised angles to shorten the boat tail, with the hopes of better attached flow. And an idea of how long it would be if i did it semi proper job

Best guess would be 3-4mpg. The girl proved this a couple tanks ago. she drove 1/2tank, not bad in the city, but ♥'s that left lane still .
Could be a higher number if i just drove it, at a constant speed without any hypermilling.. I know my average mpg before everything was added still.
Think i may do this next time i fill up just to see. When these mods are more easily swappable im gonna have some A-B-A-C,etc %/# values that will help allot.

The red outline will probably be just fine.Rolf Buchheim, who ran the wind tunnel at Volkswagen came up with a 23-degree max down-slope angle compared to Mair's 22-degrees.
I think the 3rd-gen VW 1-Liter Car is close to Buchheim's architecture.
If you're 'this close' I think you'll be rewarded .

I'll bet you could build the lower half of the boat tail off the trunk lid so you can lift it up. The top half would be hinged at the rear of the boat tail and slide forward on the roof when you open the trunk. Attach it to the hood and pillars with strong (electro)magnets maybe? This would hopefully reduce the amount of bodywork you'll have to do on that new car. Duct tape is one thing but holes are forever.
Good luck. You're off to a great start. Just relax and think about other things- your mind will figure it out for you!
