Don't forget when calculating EV depreciation... what's the actual "initial" price of the car if there's a big tax rebate at the time of purchase? Still, that's wild to see that Leaf with 1K on it.

I spotted an EV1 and an insight on my bike ride. I couldn't get my cell phone out in time to snap a picture of either, but I managed to get up to 35 MPH trying to keep up with the EV1 (I threw up afterwards.)
Okay, which one of you own an insight and live in ojai?

(You know you're an ecomodder when you literally pedal your guts out to get a good look at an eco-car )

I think I know what street the owner lives on.
I wanted to ride in the EV1.

According to this, ELIGIBLE VEHICLES | Clean Energy Vehicles for British Columbia you could get $5000 back in BC. If the vehicle was sold new through an approved dealer. Too bad it doesn't apply to used cars, even though the 2011 Leaf is on the list, because then, in theory, if the right person bought it for say $24000, it could be bought from them for that much, and then you'd get $5000 back. So you'd end up with a 2011 Leaf with 1000 KMs on it for $19k!

Nice. There are supposedly a dozen or so around lower mainland B.C., but I never saw one while I was there (yet saw 2 Fisker Karmas).

Haven't seen any notable eco-cars since returning to small town Eastern Ontario.

It's a Daihatsu Midget II apparently. Kei type cars aren't totally uncommon around here, but I have never seen one of these before.

That's quite odd-looking, but is nice.

Like all JDM cars the Midget is right hand drive, but it's so narrow it almost looks like a single seat. It had 2 seats, but I wouldn't want to have to be the passenger in it for very long that's for sure.

This is my driver for a few weeks. My friend has a dealership in the USA and buys cars up here to export down there. He bought two of these, but there is a problem getting odometers in miles for them. So I picked the one with the most gas in it to drive until the parts get here ha ha. 2009 Smart, gasoline powered, man I didn't know how fancy these things have gotten - panorama roof, heated leather seats, A/C, etc etc. This thing is going to spoil me for my Civic CX lol
