Whats the boat tail meet? When is it? Do you need a boat tail to attend?

If there is room, you could use a small hose clamp to slide up and tighten. Lets you adjust the height on where you want it at too. Open up a small hose clamp and put it around the rod. Most struts have enough room to leave it on too.

It is too bad that you don't have your fuel log up to date. I'd love to see the improvement with the boattail -- the Focus is likely to show a big improvement.

Now that the craziness of the first week of school is over, I have this weekend to start modifying the front end.

I recall there was some sort of equation for how much of the grill to block but I can't find it in the search. If anybody has any idea how much I should block off let me know.

I'm thinking of doing a "basjoos" type front end and I'll eventually be mounting foglights inside the redesigned front bumper.

go big or go home

grill blocking is all based on how much heat your radiator needs to reject to the air. When I am P&G all over I have my grill blocked 100%. without P&G I needed about 30% of stock square inches.

Start by blocking off the top and seeing how engine temps do. If its fine then block off half of the lower grill. once the daily high temps go lower then ~50F you can block the whole thing off. Grill block partial or full - EcoModder

One thing I've been planning is an LED to turn on when the radiator fan does. Maybe this would help you figure out how much is too much.
