Sounds good to me! I'm going to post an update here in a little bit. Do you know anyone to call about your friction welding idea? I'm not sure I'd know where to start, but I like that idea more...

Time for some pictures and some update.

The first is a picture from my shop manual, which kindly informed me that I was missing the water pump belt tensioner, and that's why the belt didn't work for me. Anyway, I've got the last bits of the water pump tensioner on their way here so that should be fixed up and I might actually be able to pump water (imagine that!).

This is just the car fit testing the big CRX radiator. Don't get confused that maybe the cooling system is actually installed, because that's certainly not true.

This is just to show the clearance of the intake from the radiator.

Here's the space for the A/C condenser where I'll be installing the clutch converter.

To do that I drilled some holes.

Then I jiggled the whole setup again to get things matched up right and tacked on some nuts.

After welding them up nice I just went ahead and bolted everything down. Still missing a piece or two heave and there (like some spaces for the clutch to mount up), but it'll get done soon.

Wiring in progress.

This shot was taken in complete darkness with the on camera flash. I'm just posting since I love my lens.

Also, as far as wiring updates go, I have two major ones:

- I finally got power to the ECU through wiring up one of the random plugs I never thought was important
- I think I'll be able to get around any immobilizer issues by just tucking the immo under the dash with the original insight key zip-tied to it.

Both of these things are very exciting for me, and while there is still a ton of wiring left to do, I'm thinking I might be able to try to fire up the engine today.

What are you doing for an air filter and hot air intake? Or is the rag stuffed into the throttle body the final design? ;-)

Do you plan to deep-cycle your way back to NH, or drop in the big battery once you get the ICE working?
