I finally got MY pics done of my grille block. Note the colour will change at the end of the month. This month is breast cancer awareness month and since the coroplast I sourced was pink from an election sign, it just fit. So my Civic has lipstick this month.
I found the top corners tended to stick out so that's why the extra screws in the top corners. Would ideally have put the blocks there to begin with I suppose. I intend to put washers under the screws when I get the chance, then the whole works painted flat black.
Edit: notice the car in the background is my old Contour, waiting for it's trip to the wrecker.

Oi no comments? Didn't mean to poke you too hard there Brucepick. I'm one of the slowest to post pics myself.
Maybe it's the pink that's scared you guys. Don't worry, I'm painting it black soon.

A 96-98 has a weird curve which I can't seem to get smooth yet. i have thought about swapping to it, but it requires healights, fenders, hood, bumper cover, and I think even the grill! Thats alot of stuff to buy AND paint!
I am currently working on a molded 97 front end which will be all one solid color and completely smooth. I am dead set on a stock looking permanent grill block.

I'm sure bruce just mised the chance to comment. I've never seen such sensitivity from him. I like the clean look too. You could glass and bondo over for a more stealthy, painted and smooth finish, no? This way it is reversible, however, and that's good. I've kept mine reversible too. I left the lower area on the passenger side in front of the cooling radiator open. I figure that's better than the top, but I don't know.

Sorry for no response. Sensitive? ! ? ! Thanks, California! Actually I just got distracted by work (!!!) and other stuff. It does happen.
The pink-to-become-black grill block looks good from here. Nice smooth result overall to help aero.
I'll try get some pics of mine and put 'em up here. Mine is more of a rough and ready, especially the lower grill block.

I think you misinterpreted. I was responding to petby saying that I doubted you were being sensitive about a little friendly poking because I'd never seen it before.

Probbaly more rough becasue it is not a smooth panel to begin with. Dumb 96-98 design. #$%!
Anyone have an idea on how the shape of the air intake for the radiator effects the areo of the car? Wondering if a shorter / wider opening (rectangle) makes more sense than a squarish opening that is about as tall as it is wide?

Yes, I'm fairly poke-resistant.

No comment from me since I'm trying to trying to sort out why my Civic won't enter Lean Burn:

Last fillup of 2012 is nearly here ...
The U.F.O. is down to 3 / 20 bars showing on the fuel gauge, and I've got a ~200 km trip this weekend.
Still showing ~97 MPG for this tank, but I noticed this tank's distance on the trip meter vs. the main odometer since last fill-up are drifting apart again, so I don't know how accurate that trip MPG figure really is. There appears to be a bug in Honda's system.
