You heard it here first!

Elon's crapmobiles only last a week before they're invariably destroyed by trees! Don't buy! Terrible cars, trees love them.

Just told the cement company that we want their highest rated mix. AFAIK, its 6 bag, different rocks (basalt?), volcano ash, vibrate heavily in mold. 6k psi is pretty strong.

Yeah that's just about the strongest mix I have, an pozzolanic blend minus the basalt bits because of cost.

No it's not.
They have far more expertise than Tesla on mass production, manageable production techniques, parts sourcing, ... the kind of stuff that drives prices & construction time down on regular car parts including the body work.

It'd leave more $ to spend on the innovative stuff, more affordable cars, and more profit to boost ...

Which is a huge part of the problem ...

Dunno about the US, but selling at a loss is prohibited in Europe.

Who are you talking about again? Virtually every industry?

Partnering is stupid! That is why Toyota partnered with Subaru, BMW, Ford, Nissan, and I am sure more manufacturers.

Tesla doesn't need to do anything other companies do!

Except Tesla already cooperated with Daimler AG, which invested $50 million in 2009, and sold its stock in 2014 for $830 million:

Above: Elon Musk pictured with Daimler executives with the Tesla Roadster and all-electric Smart car
According to this, Daimler ended cooperation when Tesla became a rival.

Whatever! Who cares about something from four years ago?!

The Rav4 EV was a joint project with Tesla. Toyota invested $50 million in 2010 and sold it in 2016 for around $481 million. According to this, Toyota also saw it as a competitor.

In one of those sources, Musk said they learned a great deal from Toyota, but Toyota [and Daimler] want to play small. They want to revolutionize the world.

So no, I don't think there is a hidden benefit to the poor design.
Fair enough.

The why remains.
I guess this is what you get when you allow your designers a lot of freedom and have very short lines to production. There'll be both gems and botch jobs that would not have been there in a more restrictive climate.

Musk went on 60 minutes over the weekend and said
1. He doesn’t respect the SEC
2. He isn’t abiding by the terms of his agreement with the SEC

I’m sure that will work out great for Tesla.

Hm. That's funny.

From the interview:
Quote:
Elon Musk: I want to be clear. I do not respect the SEC. I do not respect them.

Lesley Stahl: But you're abiding by the settlement, aren't you?

Elon Musk: Because I respect the justice system.
He must in some way put pressure on the SEC, because getting tongue-tied while shortsellers can continue feeding false information unhindered is not good for the company either.

Saying he does not respect them but will abide the settlement does not sound extreme to me. But you read something different. Why is that?
